So agents don’t talk? Other coaches? To think only two people know what’s going on is crazy talk. That professions is like high school. All the dirt gets spread around. A lot of people can find out who is being interviewed. And we will find out earlier, because the coach will start building his staff weeks in advance.. People have those types of connections at every school. It’s just like when someone gets recruiting talk wrong. Most of the kids tell one coach one thing and change their mind or the family gets some cash. Not that the person doesn’t know. Chances are the coach they know didn’t know about the switch.

Exactly. Do you really want the coach that cant make the CFP, 2 years in a row from the crumbling Big 12?

If the coach in question is Riley, yes.

Absolutely.

This is so wild to me. This is exactly the reason I can see making the move.

It's funny how people see things differently. OU struggles to get through their BIG schedule only to get slaughtered in the playoffs. The grind of the SEC is going to be quite difficult for them.

I’ve heard numbers north of $10million annually……I just don’t think he takes it.

I also know LSU can still go higher if OU tries a bidding war.

Count me as someone who feels TBL is legit and I would love for us to get Riley, but its not happening.

First of all, his best chance to win a national championship is to stay at OU because he has Caleb Williams for two more years. At LSU he would have to spend a couple years getting his type of players on the roster. No coach would willingly leave a talent like Caleb Williams.

Secondly, right now OU is the better job because they are not in the middle of Title 9 or possible NCAA sanctions. Too much is unknown about what is to come for LSU and these investigations. If Riley considers himself a family man there is no way he will associate himself with a school known for covering up sexual and physical assaults.

Third, Norman offers a better quality of life then trashy Baton Rouge. Sure Norman is boring but its a laid back college town while Baton Rouge is setting murder records every day. Politically Baton Rouge is a liberal cesspool. Again, if he is a family man no way would he expose his wife and kids to trashy arse Baton Rouge.

Finally, no school is outbidding OU. They have lots of high dollar boosters who come from oil. These guys egos would never let themselves be outbid when Caleb Williams/Riley probably has them being pre-season no 1 over the next two seasons.

Unless he brings Caleb Williams with him.

Wow.

Staying at a school, because of one player? There is a transfer portal that allows immediate playing time. Riley can pretty much pick whatever QB he wants.

@ OU is a better job.

Now you are just being absurd.

When you are rich it really doesn't matter where you live.

You ever consider Riley may just value himself as an elite HC and would like to get over the hump? Perhaps he could envision himself being more successful in terms of championships at LSU? Maybe just maybe? Especially once OU joins the SEC. That is not going to get any easier for them. They struggled to beat hurricane ravaged Tulane at home.

Imagine LSU with an actual above avg HC.. If avg to below avg HCs like Miles and O can win a Natty at LSU then perhaps an above avg coach could actually sustain it. Imagine Riley at an LSU with better defensive talent.

I think it comes down to what he envisions in his own mind as a coach and that has nothing to do with where he lives.

I have a question for you. Why can't this program ever hire anybody competent and stop stepping on its own dick?

I'll hang up and listen.

Woodward wouldn't touch Jimbo again with a ten-foot poll. Unless he wants LSU fans to be exceedingly bored to death via Jimbo's exceedingly dysfunctional antiquated offense.

My Opinion- Not from anything specifically except Aranda and Napier will get very serious looks. I would put the edge to Aranda because many in Admin building view Aranda as a person who kept the ship a float during O's tenure. Napier will be the next on the list.

Our coach will be announced before early signing period. I do not believe it will be a playoff team nor a NFL coach (unless its an assistant and I have not heard any names mentioned)

How does it feel to have an entire website biting on your lies?

Nobody involved in this search will ay anything. If you are an attorney for one of the parties you are violating your oath.

There is 2 people who know what is truly going on, and both do not post here. One is in public the other is a lady who takes phone calls and types documents. She is not losing her job because of an internet site.

Another moron mad about rampant speculation on the coaching changes board when there is a month of the season left.

I would be excited with either. I am partial to diamond Dave for obvious reasons, but I think Napier has a high upside (but probably more of a a gamble).

Ding ding ding.

And remember we offered more to Freeman he just got ND to counter and still took less to go there.

Riley will do the same. I bet OU pony's up to $10 mill and he'll stay.
Sometimes it's not all about money.
