The only logical conclusion you can reach regarding LSU assuring Asst. Coaches of a job is that the incoming coach currently doesn't have a staff.....otherwise he would bring his staff with him.
The only coach who has had sustained success at a Power5 school who might fit that mold is CHRIS PETERSEN.

He is a former tiger who was VERY instrumental in helping us win one of our BCS NC games. You go look at highlights of one of the NC games and you can figure out or not, who he is.

In Vols defense, I’ve seen other insiders co-sign the rumors about certain coaches being retained. I’ve seen some source the coaches themselves. But again, maybe everyone is getting the same misdirection because no one seems to know anything for sure anymore.
The only one on any site that I’ve seen double down with absolute confidence is TBL on Riley.

What’s interesting to me though is guys like Gruss and DrTigerTooth aren’t really saying much and they are the ones with friends in the BOS. So either they don’t know or don’t care to share. And that makes me think Woody really is preventing leaks or spreading misinformation
My stepdad was on the BOS and never knew shite til he did. Maybe he didn’t trust me with the info lol

You know what's really bad and scary? If you're targeting guys like Jimbo or Riley you don't tell them to keep anyone. You make a recommendation and let them do what they want. If you're telling them to keep staff...you're going down your list because you're not getting a big name. No way we'd be that dumb right? Well, this is LSU where they love to play internal politics in coaching searches so it's very believable they did tell coaches that and now they said f you. That's the scariest thing because it is believable.
