Vol: Would Jimbo Consider Spread OC

Hey Vol, looks like there is a lot of traction heading Jimbo’s way.
I’m kind of meh about this hire mostly because of his dated offense.
I know he runs his own pro style offense, but would he consider bringing another voice with some new plays?

Watched the entire game against Bama. To say their offense is “outdated” is really ignorant. They were in shotgun 99% of the time, had tons of motion and misdirection, and we’re throwing to wide open receivers with great route trees and great run designs. He definitely has evolved offensively.

yup. i saw no ACE formation at all. just gun and pistol. he used to be 50/50 ace/gun
nice horizontal stretches and motion.
inside/outside zone run plays
still no QB zone reads with QB running if read is there. i think that is on purpose he simply does not want QB running unless it is a scramble. jimbo used to use some QB draws and option. did not see it there.
brady and E used zone read and QB draws with burrow.
i saw no RPO from jimbo. we need RPO.

it is hard to master because he requires you to master a few plays and until you do then you move on to others. his O in the past required excellent execution from everyone.

I think this is the best way to put it. I will admit calzada looks much better than he did at the beginning of the year.
