Good example of how you elevate yourself when you have powerful political friends. Ausberry should've been canned at LSU a decade ago.

Considering he didn't get fired with all the Title IX investigations I'm going to guess he has a lot of dirt on the AD. Not only that, well, the investigations kinda confirmed that. He tried to sweep everything under the rug lol. So no telling what else he has done.
At any rate, he's married into a political family and he has his hand in the good ole boys network. He was never going anywhere anyway.

This is a terrible, lazy hire by LSU and most of the BOS! This was a heated discussion and oozed politricks with Verge having worked behind scenes to get SW ousted!
Look for the real AD to be brought in Verges old spot as from words in the room...our AD now has training wheels and needs an adult to assist him!

They didn't even try to make it look like they interviewed anyone else. No attempt whatsoever to make it appear that anyone other than Verge was even considered.

I know for a fact others were contacted to gauge their interest in the AD position, Brooks likely being one of them. Maybe that short list came up empty and Verge was next man up.

So basically they called Josh Brooks, he said frick off, and they hired Verge. Sounds about par for the course for LSU. Ever since Landry got involved, this has been a shite show.

I THOUGHT LSU WAS REQUIRED BY LAW TO ADVERTISE VACANT POSITIONS AND INTERVIEW ALL INTERESTED CANDIDATES. This is exactly like Alleva hiring Orgeron after not interviewing anybody else after he ran away from the meeting with Tom Herman and his Agent. (I think his Agent was Trace Armstrong if I remember correctly)
