I would say morality. Not all Mormons are like the Osmonds and let's be honest elite talent is not likely to be LDS.

He was being paid $900K with the potential to make up to $2M. Even with the bonus potential, his average salary is kinda low.
Being the Coach of BYU is kinda of hard job.
1) Relatively low salary
2) BYU Moral Code for Recruits and yourself. I don't know if I could accept this job if I wasn't married.
3) Utah is a pretty bad for recruitment and shared with 2 other FBS schools.

Given his record in 11 seasons at BYU, this is a solid to above average hire (especially when evaluating the constraints under which you must operate in the BYU job). The only thing that would concern me is an absence of any contacts in the area as almost all of his experience is coaching in the west and southwest.

my only concern is the closest Bronco has ever gotten to the east coast is the year he coached at Louisiana Tech back in 97

College football fans are so pathetic here in Virginia. I have been out and about all day shopping etc and not one person has brought up UVA's new coach. They DONT care about college football north of South Carolina.
