Me too and I agree with you. They should consider themselves fortunate if they could land a washed up SEC coach like Nutt or even Phil Fulmer.
With the talent and quality of HS football in the bay area, I should think that recruiting enough talent should not be that difficult.

I'm a Tiger by birth and did some undergrad work at LSU. My grad studies were at USF so I'm a Bull too. It's been a few tough years, hopefully whoever steps in will get us back on track.

Usf could be a decent job if its done the right way. Good recruiting base and warm weather.
Wouldnt surprise me if grudens name came up.

Gruden's contract with MNF is iron clad. I'd take Petrino but J. Genshaft is pretty risk averse so I don't see that happening. I could see Nutt landing the gig and I'm indifferent to him honestly. We need serious recruiting help and should hire based on recruiting as well as X's and O's...

Well Nutt is 0-2 in those categories.

They have practically no facilities to speak of. They rent their stadium from the Bucs and their training facilities are about like a big high school program. They have a lot of work to do if they are to build a legitimate program.
To compare them to UCF, there is a huge gap. UCF built an athletic facility that is quite impressive. They have a nice on campus stadium that also has the other three sports right there as well. They also have training facilities.
In order to get that program, they are going to have to caught up big money not only to hire a coach but to keep up in the arms race.

USF just completed a very expensive overhaul of it's facilities. New baseball and softball stadiums plus a new soccer stadium and $70M renovation to the basketball arena. The indoor football practice facility is to be completed in 14'. Outside of a on campus football stadium there is nothing UCF has that compared well against USF. Sorry, the facts are facts. To say UCF is ahead is simply false.
There's no gap between the programs, USF has beaten UCF every time they've been on the same football field. The war on I-4 has proven to be nothing more than a one sided massacre.

Rumored that USF has asked for permission to talk to Mike Bobo....

Heard that too, I'm hoping that's just wishful thinking on the part of UGA fans..

I wasn't aware of this. Good to hear that. I would still love to see them build a football stadium on campus so they can get all of the revenue. Although it is fantastic playing in an NFL stadium, the Glazer family is cashing in on the profits from concessions and parking.
I wish USF and UCF would freakin play each other annually. I assume they will now that both are in the Big East (or what is left of it).
I think that if the War on I-4 was played this year, USF wouldn't have fared too well. When they did play those two games a few years back USF was a really good program. They made #2 in one poll until the lost.

I desperately want the on campus stadium, but real estate is still a bit of an issue. There's no place on campus with sufficient footprint to take the stadium right now. Im convinced it will happen eventually, in the meantime we're stuck in Ray Jay.

I thought USF had a huge parcel of land that was undeveloped? Has the school grown so much that it is dedicated to academic buildings?
I haven't been on campus for a very long time. I'm sure it is totally different than it was back in the mid 90's when I lived over there.

There is bare land on the Fowler side of campus. The real issue is infrastructure for parking and traffic control poses a logistical nightmare. Rumor has it that USF is considering buying the University Mall located across Bruce B. Downs and that would make a terrific site. I still think an on campus stadium is years away.

Hope USF rebounds. Will always root for them.
