burns for UTs 247 site was just on the radio here in nashville... said the top four were Meyer, Harbaugh, Jimbo, and Malzahn... said they'd be willing to pay 7+ million...he said of that group, Fisher was the most likely to end up coach.

it just sorta sounded like he was talking out his butt.

Yes, and Mack brown should be on tier 3 list too if it gets to that point.

FSU is pretty confident that Jimbo will be back. Even if Texas tosses 7 mil+ his way

even if it meant turning down a raise, what coach would pass up another season of Winston and another possible national championship?

Jimbo has worked his tail off rebuilding FSU. A lot of people don't realize how bad our program was after Bobby left. And Jimbo finally has a program that can compete for titles for the next 4-5 years (imo).

i cannot see texas waiting until after the mnc to hire a coach...and even then i doubt fisher walks out on fsu w/ jameis coming back next year.

this and this.

That would be the first time that someone just won a national championship up and moved schools, right? Just don't see it.

the guys I know in Alabama have said Saban has never once talked to somebody from Texas himself

everything was Texas bros going to Sexton and Saban is currently in the middle of film study/bowl practice mode plus apparently he just became a grandpa so between work and his personal life he has had zero time for people not involved in Alabama

maybe Texas can wait until after the bowl game to make a run at Saban?

of course my "sources" have as much credibility as any other

No way Texas can wait until after the MNC. That would leave this new coach less than a month to A.) save Mack's very underwhelming class and B.) try to bolster said underwhelming class.

2014 Composite Rankings

Texas is going to have ZERO of the top 10 in-state recruits and only potentially SIX (if they get Edwin Freeman) in the top 25. The 2013 class wasn't that much better for them. Whoever comes in is left with a huge mess in the coming years

I understand your points, but I think you'll see the new coach announced after the 1st of January.

Why would he?! He has Sexton for that.

Texas rumors are rampant with clandestine meetings with boosters and Saban talking through Sexton on how he's ready to leave

JMHO but I think Texas is looking hard at Mark Dantonio.

I also think Chip Kelly's being looked at and IMO Kelly's probably thinking really hard about going to Texas.

If I had to go with one I would think more so Chip Kelly but my gut's telling me Dantonio.

I could be wrong but it's just my opinion.

I wouldn't hire Dantonio with the potential health issues, plus he's not exactly young.

And Chip Kelly has a show cause and is about to win the NFC East... he ain't goin anywhere.

They need to get off their asses and call Charlie Strong and Bill O'Brien today.

Make feelers for Jimbo, Miles and Gus otherwise you can't drag this out.

Odds are 60% Charlie Strong
