Bucky McMillan Birmingham Native Gets First SEC Win for Texas A&M
Posted by Wallacewade04 on 1/3/26 at 5:41 pm
head coach of multiple Mtn Brook HS state championships (booooo says my heart)
then went to Samford down the road and won the SoCon twice
now he gets his first SEC win for the aggies
it's gonna be bittersweet for a lot of fans in both Alabama and Auburn when we play this year

someone who can speak with small words and having more patience than me explain to this person the before and after status of football in the state of Florida as it relates to integration

Dynasties were also around before integration. I'm not sure what the point you are making is
you can literally watch the entire league get better from the late 70s onward
integration led to depth and talent that made the SEC the best conference for decades
you're arguing not with me but statistics

integration was sparse in the 70s due to both sides not really being comfortable with each other
that changed in the late 70s
in the 80s Auburn has its best decade, Georgia has its best decade up to that point
Miami becomes a decade long dynasty by embracing best player at any position regardless of race, the first team to copy them is FSU who become a multi decade dynasty
you can track the SEC's quality surpassing the Big Ten's as integration becomes the norm in the south.

Yea two of replacing the GOAT
we went 7-1 in conference but just don't have the trench play to compete with the big boys but it's 10 win regular season and a playoff win so it is a step forward from year one
The heat isn't on YET but at a minimum he needs to be back in the playoffs next year and avoid the ugly losses
what happens with the Oline coach and Oline play will be key but on pace still (even if it looked ugly as shite at the end)

We once again start the year eagerly awaiting to see
WHO WILL BE THE WORST SEC BASKETBALL TEAM
Lots of teams thought they were elite then coaches retired, stud recruits haven't panned out so far, or your domestic violence inclined coach lost all his big OOC games (Chris Beard joke football only fans)
but it doesn't matter now it's a clean SEC slate and only one team (tie breakers with same record) can be the worst
Last years ummm winner? South Carolina is off to a pretty good start! So go out there and try not to be as bad as the other teams!

Ok
To be fair. Someone had to ride that NCAA probation train for four years to get us back to normal and Mike did a decent job.
He brought in Antoine Caldwell, Javier Arenas, and a lot of the depth that made up the 2008-09 teams
And I'm glad we get to dump on him and not Sylvester Croom who everybody agrees is a solid guy. I do not want to know what some of our yahoos would have had to say about Croom when those teams inevitably failed due to sanctions.

As a Catholic I will say
we are all guilty we are all bad, that included Hugh Freeze!
not for the hookers or any of the weird stuff, but just in general, Hugh like all of us is gross and bad and should feel bad so go to church (where father better get us out in a crisp 55-60 minutes so help me) go to confession then go get communion and Hugh Auburn and all of us will be all right
football? oh we're all on our own god doesn't care
he also doesn't care about drinking or gambling so that's fun
but in summation me, you, Hugh, Auburn, all teams, everybody bad and should feel guilty

Do it, hell yea
But Hoover give the SEC way too much. That lil convention center AND parking for motorhomes?
it's hard to beat

Is this because "Rick Barnes in March"?
I'm just wondering where they go to when they need points reliably
the defense is of course spectacular and whoever they face will score well below average but when you need to get multiple scoring possessions where we going?
I do know they have excellent final second plays drawn up :wah: :wah:

Speaking of Equestrian, I was actually thinking of going to the SMU vs Auburn meet (contest, game, match) or whatever it is called tomorrow here in Dallas.
#1 Auburn vs #2 SMU
ok
SMU being good at this makes sense, a buncha god awful rich horse girls in Dallas is what one would expect

Murphy built this program but sonofabitch if we haven't failed to live up to expectations for a full decade now
and I am preliminarily bitching about Oklahoma getting to play home games in the WCWS

I don't know how they score equestrianism and it confuses me
the horse jumps over the poles right? but it's also like..........how the horse jumps over the poles?
and the rider doesn't wear normal person attire they gotta look like the Duke of Edenborough hunting foxes or some shite right?

Wonder if that isn't the mindset of a lot of coaches of top teams
Not my team
we gotta get that first win and then see what we can do on a neutral court against one of the team's that beat us
we could tumble to the 3 spot, which, isn't the end of the world but still
I will say I would be super pissed to be the 2 seed that drew our 3 seed

I will always hate that we only got a sweet 16 with two NBA players on the court with Miller and Clowney
but at least we got to the sweet 16
how the hell you gonna drop that game with Kessler and Jabari?
