Childs and Wright were committed before he was hired.

Adams was a SC commit who flipped when Petrino offered him as WR, Carroll offered him as DB.

Horton wasn't the lead recruiter for Davis that was Bobby Allen.

Give us a few examples of players Horton signed for Arkansas.
According to Rivals.com...

1) Brey Cook
2) Brandon Allen
3) Mitch Smothers
4) Byran Jones
5) Knile Davis
6) Ronnie Wingo
7) Darius Winston
8) Joe Adams
9) Greg Childs
10) Tyler Wilson
11) Jarius Wright
12) Chris Gragg
13) Dennis Johnson
14) De'Anthony Curtis

Some of the players I listed were highly touted recruits, and beyond that I have no idea what happened with them. He's a very good recruiter, although I know DaleDenton will try to spin this somehow so it doesn't favor Auburn. I didn't even go into listing players from this year's class. But it seems that, by looking at his profile, he was the one that carried the load in getting a majority of recruits there. Since 2007, he recruited around 49 players that eventually went to Arkansas.

Point blank, he's a very good recruiter.

I'm not so sure that some of those guys weren't just products of Petrino's system.

They might've been, but at least his system brought them college success. That's all I ask from them when players come to Auburn. It doesn't really matter to me what happens with them in the PROS.

Malzahn's system brought Chris Todd, Onterio McCalebb, Darvin Adams, all starting offensive linemen from 2009-2010, etc, success.

There's your problem.

Horton was the recruiting coordinator for Petrino, he was the default lead recruiter on rivals for player's rivals didn't get the information on who their lead recruiter was.

quote:

14) De'Anthony Curtis

Was committed and signed before Horton was hired.

quote:

12) Chris Gragg, Jarius Wright, Greg Childs

Were all committed before he was hired.

Joe Adams and Tyler Wilson were offered by Petrino when he was hired and committed to him, Nutt didn't offer Wilson and Adams was committed to SC.

Wingo and Davis are the only ones on your list from outside of Arkansas, Davis had Allen as his lead recruiter and McGee was Wingo's.

Allen was lead on Brandon Allen.

Brey Cook, Mitch Smothers, Byran Jones, and Darius Winston had McGee as co-lead.

LOL.

Tim Horton's recruiting territory while at Arkansas was, Arkansas.

During his 6 year stint, he was able to get one recruit here on an official visit from outside the state and that recruit was from Memphis. There is a reason he was the lowest paid assistant on our staff...

You do realize Horton was hired by Houston Nutt in July of 2007 right?

So you are saying Horton was responsible for them committing?

It had nothing to do with them already being committing to the staff before hand and making it official on the dates listed above, it was Nutt hiring Timmy Horton that was the deal maker.

This is what I love about you Auburn posters you are experts on everything and think you know more about a RB coach at Arkansas that you never heard of before your coach was think about hiring him...
