Will Sumrall coach after tonight?

If I had to guess if Tulane wins and makes the playoffs he will continue to coach.

If Tulane loses and goes to the WestAppalachian.com bowl he will leave.

Either way I will thank him for his time at Tulane and will wish him the best of luck at Florida.

Blake Baker is just the next Sumrall for us. Most realistic fans knew that and if you listen to the wording of our A.D. Sumrall was a 1-3 year rental.

He will make some decent money while (hopefully) keeping our (recent) success going and then hopefully being poached by a Power Conference team. If Blake leaves Tulane just like Sumrall left Tulane I will say the exact same thing I said about Blake as I did Sumrall when he was hired.....

I will gladly write the best letter of recommendation in my finest penmanship to whichever school Blake would like to go to.

I think the money people (not necessarily the athletic department) realize that if you can hire coaches who want to use Tulane as a stepping stone then both parties win. Tulane keeps winning which hopefully helps get us into a better conference and the coaches can make some decent money while building up their resume to get a higher profile job.

Baker and Tulane have agreed to a multi-year deal worth $4-million dollars a year, along with facility upgrades, according to our sources within the Tulane Athletic department.

It was a reported earlier that Tulane’s offer was $3 million and LSU was willing to match…I wonder how much we matched until he accepted 4mil?

Awesome for him. Wish him well! Maybe our coach in 5 years after Kane wins a title and goes to the NFL

We apparently offered 3+, plus incentives, or around there to stay

Man this is such a realistic outlook for a fan of a G6 school. Props to you
So many fans of G6 schools have acted like scorn women when their coaches leave for P4 jobs

Oh wow that great for BB and LSU. Shows that the school and Kiffin wanted him to stay.

I think this boiled down to BB wanting to test the waters as a HC and the timing just worked out for him and Tulane.

Unless something insane happens (like a scandal or something) if he doesn't make it as a head coach at Tulane he can easily go back to making a bunch of money as a DC.
