O will attempt bring him on staff as position coach.
QB coach would be nice.

Cooper has become so overrated on this board
You may be right, I just have fond memories of solid DB play during his tenure. He is a solid DB coach, and a lazy recruiter. I forgot about the expense report thing though

Something going wrong...Imagine that

Damn, this would suck for coaching and recruiting. He's given LSU a lot of great years. Can't blame him for wanting to move up.
I agree. Hopefully he doesn't move to a DC role until we at least get the early enrollees on campus.

I think his personal issues made him panic and commit to LSU, but now that his mothers death has sunk in, he realizes He only committed to LSU to be close to home and his heart is at Auburn. I wish the best of luck to him.

Canada's background seems to be QBs, I don't see where you have room on staff for sark unless steve moves back to shadow

I wouldn't say delusional, but highly unlikely. I would imagine Saban could find him a place as position coach if need be just like LSU could...it probably is more along the lines of working for Bama/Saban vs O/LSU and the caliber of the schools along with the relationship with the coaches

getting closer and closer to Canada being here, let's just let it happen already

UF is heavily courting Raymond for either CO- DC or RECRUITING COORDINATOR.
UF Collins is supposedly taking a HC position.

quote:No, O's camp gave these impressions by promising what they couldn't deliver. It was an idiotic plan, and Alleva bought it. O may luck into a good OC hire, but his involving of Kiffin in this, and letting it pretty much take our offensive recruiting hostage, has so far not been a good move any way you look at it.
Kiffin told O he was coming. O was operating on the word of his friend. (Not like many would trust Kiffin) O offered Tua because at that time Kiffin was coming. I don't see anything wrong with offering the top QB in the country.
These "perceptions" are falsely created by bored people on message boards and radio shows that need to fill their shows with something.

Do you think LSU could counter with a raise and an additional title such as recruiting coordinator?

Raymond goes from the fake DBU to the real one.

Nah we are going to save money there and go get a high priced Strength and Conditioning guy

I'm not totally convinced that he's gone yet. Stidham has 2 or 3 years of eligibility left, where Etling is done after next year, here. If he likes what Canada has to say, I think LSU still has a strong case to make for getting him on the field sooner. It would be him, Brennan and Scott battling for the job, and he certainly has a lot of physical advantages running a spread offense, assuming the knees are solid after a reshirt year and a lot of strength and conditioning.
I never thought we'd get both. QB recruits are like teenage girls now--they need to be courted, to have their hands held, to be told we love them and that we only have eyes for them. And Narcisse was always more likely to leave.
This is their pitch: "come in and redshirt and get stronger. Stidham is going to have a great year and go pro. Then the job is yours. We'll turn you into the next Cam Newton and win another national championship with you leading the way. And oh yeah, you may just win a Heisman along the way."
And the thing is, all that may be true. What sort of pitch do you think LSU can make to a dual threat QB that would sound better than that?
