Would they try looking in the Southland again... maybe Frank Scelfo or Tim Rebowe?

Jay Hopson, Broderick Fobbs, Mark Hudspeth, and Buddy Stephens are some other names I’ve seen floated around

There were rumors that Steve Ensminger was a candidate

Someone was throwing around David Brewerton from Zachary on the msb. That would be ironic since he has been whipping up on West Monroe recently. Brew is a good coach but I don’t know if you’d want a guy to make that kind of jump.

I also don’t see Rebowe leaving Nicholls. He’s an older guy and he’s got a good thing going over there.

There is a 0% chance that Hudspeth is a candidate. Brew would be an outstanding candidate. He’s got the it, never bet against someone who has the it

Everything I am hearing from my sources is that Coach Ensminger would be the perfect coup for the Warhawks if they can pull it off. These are the same sources (that I posted about on the Rant) that told me that Coach Viator was out when everyone else was saying ULM couldn't afford to make the change.

Coach Ensminger (62) is only three years older than Coach Orgeron. Those close to Steve Senior knows that he really has zero desire to retire...ever. He actually is extremely excited that Steve Junior is now coaching and would love to work with him and pass on a lot of his knowledge (and there is a slim chance that Steve Junior could be added so quickly to the LSU staff).

Both Steve Senior and Steve Junior spent time in the Monroe area and enjoyed it thoroughly (circa 2002 at WMHS) and both made great impressions on some key members of the community.

Finally, Steve Senior hears all the whispers about him and he would embrace an opportunity to brighten his legacy and be a Louisiana Football Hall of Famer. With the right opportunity can assemble a great staff that can dramatically improve on what Coach Viator was doing with recruiting in Louisiana.

Fact: Monroe has had the fastest job growth in Louisiana in the past two quarters (Advocate just ran a story) and influential leaders at Lumen/Centurylink have taken note at what is happening in Lafayette and realize a competitive ULM is good for the city's brand and can help with the perception of the city when recruiting tech talent from across the nation to come to Monroe (their headquarters).

Let's see if they can write a big enough check and provide Steve Senior with the resources that make him pull the trigger because I know he will have a great amount of success if done.

if ULM doesn't work out, Steven Jr should grab a small college asst job and move forward from there. If college ball is goal and with his pedigree, why mess around with HS ball

Century Link will be in Denver soon.

You can bank on that.

Shite they already are, and fyi, they are Lumen now.

They have already sucked most of the upper tier folks to Denver. I still think Monroe keeps HQ here for the time being, but yeah, that move is probably inevitable.

Yep, and the “Headquarters” is a ghost town. They’ve been forcing people to Denver or telling them to take a hike since Storey took over. Only top exec left is Stacey Goff and he’s not a native.

As for Ensminger getting the ULM job that would be laughably bad.

Until Lumen officially bolts, that foot is only a toe. I actually think that Monroe bringing in a new mayor might help turn things around.
