Apparently, years of losing and 6/6 seasons with no bowl game is good enough for the Cajuns.

There are LOTS of ULL fans that are pissed off that Bustle is coming back.

Beat 1AA Southern this year...

Got absolutely pummeled by 1AA McNeese last year

Other than that, I can't answer your question?

Southern this past year. The only 1AA school we've lost to in the Bustle era was McNeese. We've played NSU twice and NC A&T once since he's been coach.

I live in Lafayette and know many Alums and former players. They all agree with this statement!

yeah and honestly what is the point of bringing him back in the final year of his deal? Look at the Robert Lee situation where he is in the final year of his deal and it shows

He's done. Our 07-08 roster is essentially the same as this year's roster and Robert Lee still can't win with an experienced group.

We lose 8 seniors this year.

Not trying to offend, but whats your view on ULL to 1AA (or whatever its called now). Take the money and pride out of the situation, do you agree based on talent, scheduling, attendance etc?

Yeah what do the Laffy people think about that? Personally I think only LSU and Tulane should be 1-A. Maybe Tech, but thats iffy.

Tulane fans (both of them) will agree with this, but IMO this is borderline!

I don't think they should go to 1AA, I think there is good potential for the athletic program, but for so long the school got in their way. Now that they have someone new in charge of the school that doesn't want to take all the money from the athletic department it should get better. The establishment of the RCAF is a step in the right direction and is long overdue.

They do need to lobby the Sunbelt to kick Denver out of the conference, it's entirely too expensive to have to travel there to play for mens and womens basketball and they bring nothing to the conference anyway.

The fans are fickle, but if they can get a new basketball coach in there that can put a good product on the court and start winning big in baseball again, people will show up, I mean, they sell beer at the games, they only need to be marginally entertaining to draw a crowd.

If LSU was the only other IA school in the state I would say Tulane would be a lot better. That would be a big sell. What would really be awesome is if they ever got that Magnolia Conference off the ground (would never happen but still) and had Tulane, Rice, Vandy, Duke, etc. Smart kids pwning each other, brilliant.

So does Tulane, seen their attendance figures? UL-L can do this because football, basketball and baseball facilities are "off" campus and Univesity agrees to do so. As for me, I can find better entertainment in Laffy in which to drink beer... Just saying

Anyone know how much it costs Tulane to rent the dome compared to the rent at Gormley?

what I was saying was that if they start putting a better product on the court/field, the fact that they sell beer can be a tipping point for borderline people deciding whether or not to go to the game. Overall I don't mean that it will provide the sole reason to go to a game, but it does help to bring in a few people who otherwise wouldn't go.

But like I said, it's contingent on a good product on the field.

All need to relax their qualifications to attend. A 325 pound, 5 star rated kid from Selma Ala or Decatuer Ga likely won't qualify to get into these schools. I like your idea of a conference that would include all these brainy type schools!

Tulane already tried it but it was a fail. Too much money coming in from the big boy conferences. But imagine that. I could really get into that conference. It would be a division one Ivy. It was actually going to be called the Magnolia conference.
