Hey man don't laugh! This Hoke guy is a real up and comer, and, I might add, is just like Carr.
I've listed a little background to prove the point:
"Hoke has coached the Cardinals the last five years, compiling a 22-36 mark. But he has the program rising, as Ball State is playing in its first bowl (International vs. Rutgers) since 1996."

I doubt this. The head coach of Ball State is the front runner at Michigan? Recruiting would die for a solid year or two, unless he had immediate success to the tune of national championships / beating Ohio State.
If anything, I've always been under the impression that Michigan moves at the speed of a sloth when it comes to these sorts of decisions. Much more likely that 'sources' are just throwing out names while everyone sits around and waits for some sort of decision to be made.

A young 28 year old Paul Dietzel came to L. S. U. only after Charles Mac called him up in Lexington and asked him to interview for the job vacancy in Baton Rouge. Of the eight candidates PD was the youngest with Assistent O lines & D lines backgounds with Col Blaik/West Point & Paul Bryant/Ky. He was at best a longshot .
just thought I'd addition you're subtaction
