As far as TOS goes....they are saying that TX is now rethinking not firing Strong, after we fired Miles. They want to see how Strong does the next two weeks (vs Okie State/Oklahoma) and if its a poor showing, watch out. They do NOT want to lose Herman to us. Will be something to watch for sure.

I'd imagine they wouldn't want to lose Herman period. Why would LSU scare them?

Or is it just the fact they KNOW we'll be looking for a coach and he's one of the most talked about?

I think you are safe.

If Texas is 7-6 or better they will keep Strong I dont think they have the balls to fire him if he at least has a winning record. The Big 12 is so down they will pull that off

Exactly, its pretty easy to tell Herman and Fisher are our top two candidates...its all over the media.

Texas Brass has the ego of "we can get who we want, when we want". Their whole state has that mind set

I don't think they are panicking over losing Herman because they think they can just ring home Bevos bell and Herman will come running to them

Texas will have an image issue if it forces out Strong...when they beat ND in the first game, the players carried Strong off the field...my guess is that the players will have a big issue with Texas running him off.

That might be Strong's saving grace.

Herman has said he wants to stay in TX, so if they fire Strong...I'm a little nervous. I want Jimbo first, but damn...really don't want us to have to fall past Herman to find a coach. Although I do think Gary Patterson would do a helluva job here too.

The culture at Texas has so devolved that even players accept 8-5 and 7-6 seasons with regularity.

Carrying off a coach for a home win over a crappy Notre Dame team. Alabama and Ohio State dont do that. Can you guess why?

Well...........at the time we didn't really know ND was poop. #10 with a lot of people expecting big things from them. That's not a knock against Texas.

Not to mention, like it or not, the racial overtones and ramifications that could occur if this happens.

If UT has a marginal winning record, dont think for a minute Strong wont be fired...the liberal Sipps in Austin will have a cow, but the mainline UT Boosters are cut throats, lots of back stabbing infights...if there's a sniff of LSU going after Herman, Strong is toast

Players always have an issue when the coach is fired. Alabama players were crying at the press conference and pleading the case to keep Mike Price. Mike fricking Price.

Yeah, our players were definitely not happy to see Miles go...did that stop us from firing him? No, TX boosters are TIRED of losing and not being a top ten team regularly. I bet talks started back up the second we fired Miles, they don't want to be late to the party and make another underwhelming hire like last time.

I was saying the other day I though TX was the kind of school to fire Strong this year just because they are worried that Herman won't be available next year. Of course Strong has to look bad enough where they don't get crucified for firing him after year 3
