Top coaches on the rise

Saban at Mich St and Meyer at Utah. They were very promising coaches that had not done it at a big time university. Everyone knew they were good coaches, but these guys got their shot to prove it. Give me a list of some very promising coaches who have not gotten their shot yet in your opinion. Guys maybe I am not even considering. I don't follow college football much nationally but rather mostly the SEC.
The only ones I can think of IMO are:
Mullen
Peterson
Patterson
Have to be more of them.

I'd love to see what Peterson could do with big time talent. Apparently he's very happy at Boise. All the power to him. I was very impressed with Sarkisian this year.

Al Golden at Temple
Kyle Whittingham at Utah
Randy Edsall at UConn (They're a BCS school but I wouldn't say it's a big time job)
Bronco Mendenhall at BYU
June Jones at SMU (he's not exactly an up and comer)
I dunno really..this is just off the top of my head. I think Golden is going to make someone a hell of a coach one day.

skip holtz at ecu. he had them in the top ten (in 2008) and that is a huge accomplishment.

And I'd add Kelly (who's about to get his shot) and Holtz.
The only concerns I have with Petersen and Patterson is that they've only had success at one stop. Not that it's determinative, but I prefer coaches who've been a HC at a few stops. It gives you more comfort that the coach is good, and it's not just the school.
Saban at Toledo and MSU.
Meyer at Bowling Green and Utah.

Everyone liked what Meyer was doing, but Saban couldnt even get a match $ from his them employer MSU. When Saban arrived in the SEC everyone at SEC media days said he would fail in the SEC and Tubberville welcomed him by saying Big10 football wont win in the south.

I remember that - good point. But I remember laughing at the skeptics. I watched Saban a fair amount when he was at Michigan State and loved his brand of physical football. He had a great background (experience as an assistant at OSU and NFL background), and he was beating superior teams at the times in ND and Michigan. His record wasn't spectacular, but it was very good considering that ND, Michigan, and OSU were all still strong during the mid 90s and were taking most of the good talent.
