100% of the posters on warhawknatin.com do not agree with the hire. We do not understand it. All I can say is we need to replace the athletic director. Bobby Staub has got to go. We needed a fresh young face that wanted to take a program on the verge of breaking out and make a name for himself. Not Todd Berry.

Can't disagree with anything you said. Staub has been a disappointment. I would have preferred a young energetic coach as well. Reffit staying at DC and Farmer coming in as OC should make most feel a little better. Farmer was a very good recruiter when he was at ULM.

I don't like this hire at all. Why do programs continue to hire coaches who have sucked as head coaches in the past?

Its a good hire. Coach Berry is a good football guy and has been a winner before. He did wonders at Illinois St with basically nothing, revamping that program after Heacock left. Greenspan hired him at Army, who also hired him at Illinois St., he just ran the wrong system there, they didnt have the QB to do well, Kevin Glenn CFL guy is the perfect QB for Berry's Offense. Also like how he lets his assistants do their job and takes the heat for him. I have met his dad also, regionally famopus coach in Missouri (Willard) and you know where he gets his stand up personna from.

ULM is broke... most of the other guys on the list pulled their names out when they heard the salary

Yea, I'm sure they thought going in they were in line for a million dollar job.
Of course I see "dawg" in your name so that explains it.

This.
I was against this hire when I first heard it. Mainly because I was hoping for a major change. But I watched his press conference yesterday and I feel much better about the situation. He's keeping the DC from this season, Troy Reffet. Reffet was on the Broyles Award list, which goes to the top assistant coach. Kirby Smart at Bama won it. Berry is also bringing back Steve Farmer as OC. He was OC at ULM in 07 & 09 but went back to is alma mater Illinois St last year. Basically it shouldn't be a major change overall. We went 6-6 this year, hopefully the new staff can get us one or two extra wins.

His press conference should have settled everyone down. He did a very good job and even addressed the disgruntled fans.

Video of the press conference anywhere? Looked online at the News Star and didn't see it.
Edit: Nevermind, found it. He did a good job.
