Tim Deruyter Defensive Coordinator

Has greatly improved the Cal defense. He has been a head coach at Fresno State and has coached both linebackers (like Aranda) and defensive backs. He coaches under Justin Wilcox who was the defensive coordinator at Wisconsin after Aranda. He runs basically the same system as Aranda. His current salary is under 500,000.

Great candidate. Waiting for your opinions.

This type of hire would've been more likely before we won the NC.
O is going to have free rein to hire whoever he wants, and I strongly suspect it will be someone he's worked with previously.

LSU should do much better than him. You don't want an A&M castoff

He did a good job everywhere he's been except as a HC. He's exactly the kind of candidate LSU should be looking at.

Coaching under Wilcox, can’t help but wonder who is more responsible for the defense

He was a good DC before wilcox, so I wouldn't be too concerned about it.

Thanks for the opinions guys. I do not think that Leonard would leave Wisconsin. This is a way to get a successful coach who has exposure to Aranda's system.
