Had to clean what up? Sark left behind a 9-win team when he went to USC.

He hired Jimbo who knew he'd run FSU into the ground

FSU was coming off an Orange Bowl win and was preseason #3 in Jimbo's last year. And it's pretty well-known now he wanted to escape to LSU before then.

FSU's struggles since he left show their problems run deeper than the head coach.

So your make believe boyfriend from OU has left you feeling jilted, and in your perverse fantasy world, it's all Woodward's fault ?

Lincoln Riley is soft as fuk and I didn't want him within 1,000 miles of the LSU football program. The fact Woodward couldn't see that is telling. But the fact remains, that Riley wasn't looking to get out of OU, so he had no incentive to jump on Woodwards $100M pud.

We’re forgetting that he couldn’t pull Dave Aranda to A&M as a DC

The original poster’s feelings about Woodward’s previous hires is more spot on than LSU fans want to think.

Fisher became a “national championship coach” at Florida State but it was only while Jameis Winston was there. Without Jameis, he’s been a good coach, but not a championship one. Jimbo got a golden parachute from Woodward.

Mulkey was nearing a stand-off with her athletic director at Baylor. Woodward saw that and pounced.

We may never know the full story on the baseball hire, but I think it’s safe to say Jay Johnson wasn’t Woodward’s first choice, and probably not his 2nd or 3rd, either.

I think what’s apparent more than anything now is that Woodward himself buys into the myth, and it’s burned him this time. The big-booster group can’t be happy, because they bought the Riley hype, too, and were gushing to people about it.

Woodward maybe can find another distressed property and pass it off as his choice all along. But it’s going to be hard this time, especially in the eyes of the big-boosters.
