Best turn of phrase there is "opportunity cost".
Opportunity cost is a concept that is lost on a person like Alleva. He has climbed the ladder of athletic departments with scarcely an independent thought of his own. It takes minimal intellectual rigor to do that, but rather the same bullshite mindset that everyone else has. He may be able to kiss donors', politicians', and administrators' asses, but he is not a leader with vision... just a piss poor coward that would rather hide or lead from behind. Constantly buckling under pressure, he is a buffoon that would rather the easy out than to show some fortitude and do his job.
I can't wait until he's gone.

The crying bitches like you would probably enjoy coloring books more. How fricking long are y'all going to throw a hissy fit? Why not just go cheer for Texas or FSU since y'all seem to be fans of coaches over LSU
Why are you so angry we don't bow down and worship your God Orgeron?
I'm gonna be right here after ever shite eating loss and when your pissing your panties and blaming it on Kiffin or whoever the frick we hire. I'm gonna laugh at every bullshite excuse you make for O.
And I don't blame O.
I blame fricking morons like you that wanted this and are ok with it. Just like the morons who have defended Miles dumbass the past 5 years except Miles was a better coach.

A few comments...
This isn't quite accurate, LSU was well on the way to getting another underwhelming coach. Saban, looking to find a place to get out of UM and OSU's shadow to better build his bran, saw the potential and had Sexton reach out with Saban's vision of what LSU could be. Thankfully Emmert jumped on it. Yes we made the commitment, but only because someone brought the vision to the program.
What cost LSU last year was a dysfunctional power structure trying to force the issue on a coaching change. Jimbo wasn't any more wrapped up last year than he was this year. All the leaks were flying, people were rallying around Les, and when it became apparent that Jimbo wasn't coming and there was no Plan B, they had little choice but to stay with Les. Had everything been kept underwraps until after the A&M game, a normal transition could have happened. (although we'd probably be sitting here discussing Tommy Tuberville's first season at LSU)
I have been telling this board for years that the hire following Les would be underwhelming. It's not really any "one's" fault, it's just the LSU way. And it will continue as long as LSU takes money from big donors and provides power and access in return.
FWIW, the Alabama situation was very much like Saban's with LSU. Sexton initiated the comment and dictated the terms, Alabama didn't really go out and "do what it takes". They were well on their way with RichRod. Of course one of Saban's biggest demands was that boosters had to BTFO and leave him alone. They were desperate enough at the time to go along. LSU will not change until the next time a candidate comes along with a plan to sell, which at the end of the day is probably why O got the job.

What ultimately turned LSU around was a commitment to leverage our elite natural resources, which of course meant financial investment.

Of course the latter ultimately cost us the chance at an elite coach and championship caliber season.

That is not the kind of decision that puts you on the plane of teams such as Alabama, Michigan, Ohio State, who went out and got their elite candidate.

Jindal would have let LSU spend the money
Really? So he bankrupted the state, petitioned to keep Les last year, but this year he somehow would have let it go?
Also, there are zero reports of JBE getting involved in shite this year, that i know of. You can't blame JBE for the financial problems Jindal left behind. That dude really frickin blew it as Gov. I'm not pro JBE just anti-jindal. Dude is an arse clown.

I wasn't trying to defend Jindal or anyone else on creating the economic mess. And I know there were reports that Jindal intervened to stop the Miles firing last year. My comments were based on my own pet theory about all of that... which is probably dead wrong.
