Wrong..9 regular season wins...top 10 rivals, espn right not..12 247..with 3 spots left. In all likelihood, Surtain, Chase, Goodrich move us up to 8 or 9. Comments?

Just to add, Steve Ensminger doesn't deserve all the crap that's being slung his way. He's been a good coach for LSU, and was a good player here in his day.

If reports are to be believed, he didn't want the OC job. So for them to start mentioning his name, now? All because so many misinterpreted what O said about the bowl game after the aTm game...I can understand the meltdown over Ensminger's name being mentioned. I just don't think he, personally, deserves the slings and arrows he's getting.

Miles recruiting classes lacked quality starters and depth at OL, DL, LB, QB. Especially DL. His classes were highly rated but out of sync. I like Les by the way, but he was too stubborn to change his 3 yards and a cloud of dust philosophy. By no means am I saying "0" is the answer, but he deserves to be given a fair amount of time.

Attended what about ticket sales and TV revenue how did that stack up? Just curious.

well TV revenue is higher, that is obviously not indicative of fan support for this regime bc LSU gets an equal share of all SEC tv revenues based on contracts signed years ago.

"tickets sold" is still high for now but games are not selling out like they used to.

I guessing the powers to be give a shite about attendance.

Very possible, but you can only spit on your customers for so long before they stop buying your product. It starts with empty seats but how long until people who rarely if ever actually go stop shelling out huge sums of money for season tickets?

We have a ZERO percent chance of being in the 247 composite top 10. We only have 3 spots left, two of the teams above us (USC and Clemson) have only 15 commitments each. The next two (AU and ND) both have 3 or 4 spots left. We can't make up the ground - regardless of how good our last 3 are.

That may or may not be the case with 247...so you discount ESPN & Rivals?

yup.
Only rankings to pay attention to is the 247 composite, because it takes into account espn and rivals. The composite is literally an aggregate of the major recruiting services. The bigger the sample size the less error.

The "OMG THIS MELT IS SOOO AMAZING" people are so much worse than the people overreacting to the possibility of Ensminger being hired as OC. Yes, there are people that are overreacting. But those people are passionate about LSU football and rightfully worried about its direction. Would you rather people just not give a shite? If we go through with hiring Ensminger as OC you just might get your wish. There is no universe in which Ensminger should even be considered as the replacement. I don't want that to sound like a personal attack on him. He's been a solid TE coach and recruiter for us. But he hasn't run his own offense in 20 years, wherein he was fired from Clemson. He's expressly stated he doesn't want to be an OC. Does that sound like an ideal candidate to you, OP?

That doesn't make sense. ESPN 10, Rivals 10, 247 12 and the composite is 13? That's the only recruiting services figure in, correct?

wrong again.

the 247 composite is of the PLAYER rankings, not the TEAM rankings. They then use that to form the overall team ranks.

actually people have gone out of their way to be respectful to E while voicing their disapproval of him being promoted to OC

this is nowhere near the type of character assignation that someone like Schiano had

Well, if we finish 8 or 9 Rivals & ESPN that's good enough for me especially because we are filling needs and creating much needed depth. That would be my goal if I was the head coach and live with the results which I believe will be a minimum of 9 regular season wins every year. Now, 2019's recruiting class could be epic, but we'll see.

Exactly. I have nothing bad to say about Ensminger. He's contributed more to LSU football since his days in college than I could ever dream of in multiple lifetimes. But he should in no way be considered as offensive coordinator.
