He needs to exert discipline on the hiring process, not give in to the rush, panic hire like O is prone to do in these situations and land a top-flight DC.

Just be prepared for your new DC Kris Richard is all I can say.

ETA: what top flight dc is available at this point, btw? Obviously money isn't the only thing these coaches consider looking at what just happened.

Woodward should have shown his worth by locking freeman down. Come on man.

Woodward hasn’t done one single thing that I find impressive since he’s been here. I hope that changes but I’m not seeing what this guy actually brings to the table

Doubt Woodward is going to get involved. He’s probably letting O pick his people and if he fails and we have a bad season next year O is gone.

How do you lock down someone who didn't want to be here? That makes no sense. What happened today is a part of business and hiring. The biggest mistake was O going on the radio yapping about Freeman being his top target. He and his agent used that against us for sure.

Yes, I agree. One way he can change that is seeing the opportunity for himself here and landing an elite DC after the Freeman flop.

He can’t even push himself away from the table. (No buffets during COVID)

The question is can, will he exert that leadership? I’ve seen nothing to tell us he can or will.
