Trey Wallace @TreyW_Radio Tennessee is really going all in on this coaching search (Quietly). Will be interesting to see how the next two weeks play out.

Then said this in response to someone suggesting a fire and hire within 24 hours

Trey Wallace @TreyW_Radio Tennessee & John Currie would prefer the Turn/Burn scenario when it comes to the next HC.

ESPN is 100% not able to afford to keep MNF after deal ends. Gruden to Vols is 50-50.

I'd honestly be wary of NFL guys who either have no experience in the college game, or too far removed from it. That's just me.

Gruden will be a horrible failure in College football. TV gig has spoiled him. Hasn't worked hard long hours in 10 years.

The college game is a lot different than the pro game. Gruden street cred will get him some recruits and they will be much more competitive but you still have to contend with all the other teams in the league.

Isn't that what they said when they fired Fulmer. Jones is clearly the best coach you've had since Fulmer, at least in terms of W/L record. A good coaching search is important, IMO you should have a replacement lined up prior to firing the coach in these type of scenarios.

Isn't this the guy that desperately wants Tennessee to be relevant again?

Yes, but that has nothing to do with ESPN not being able to afford Gruden on MNF.

It's going to be a laugh riot when Tennessee hires some guy named "Mike Allen" or "Ben White" as the next head coach and the inevitable spin that will accompany such a decision.
