One way or the other? Timing makes too much sense. Let PP have his day Monday. Let the conference school playing for the NC finish the season tonight, have the meeting in Dallas with Brandon on the first day of the offseason and go from there.

Ends when Les calls a press conference announcing he is returning or when Michigan hires a coach

Uh...yeah. Which, logically, should be Tuesday is the suggestion I made.

More than likely Wednesday if they're discussing on Tuesday...

Longer it drags, the less optimistic I become. Les could end it all now and make a definitive statement. The fact that he hasn't shows some interest.

Considering Tuesday they could talk it could take a few more days to iron out a contract, or for Les to inform LSU and then see if LSU would match it. Tuesday is when everyone would like it to end.

Both sides have more than likely already established their ceiling, contract wise. In UM's case, a couple things may need to be worked out, but hopefully that's being done before Tuesday. For LSU, I think Alleva and Miles already knew coming in what(if any) changes they wanted. Les' agent probably already has both contracts in hand. I think Tuesday is just a meeting with Brandon and a simple yes or no, then a press conference to announce what he decides.

If it happens Tuesday then fine, if it doesn't who cares... IF Les stays and gets his extension/raise then I hope they remove the buyout, if he goes then I hope LSU can grab a capable coach for 3+ million a year.

I agree that we can grab a very capable coach for 3mil, hell, we can probably get one for less than that. It just may not be a homerun hire.

Les wasn't a home run hire...
Everyone wants a "name" coach, I just want one that has proven he can recruit and that he can coach. LSU has the resources for any coach to be successful.

It SHOULD have ended today.

The way this is dragging out is pissing me off.

Alleva should be protecting LSU's interests; we've got a monster recruiting class in limbo.

The future of our program is going to be at the mercy of a hire we are going to have to scramble to get, at this late date.

Hey, Les and Brandon ... shite OR GET OFF THE POT!!!

I agree. All the incoming HC would need is himself, an OC and an OL coach and most LSU fans would be happy with that(as long as he's offensive minded)
