Carl is a very respected high school football coach in the St Louis, MO area. He's a really good man. For a long time, he was at a school called Lutheran North. He's now at De Smet.

He's coached numerous D1 football players. For example, Ronnie Perkins at OU (now with the NE Patriots). He became great friends with OU DL coach Calvin Thibodeaux. Reed is a big OU fan.

247 Sports hired him recently (he still coaches HS football FWIW).

I'll just re-paste a post I did earlier because it is indepth.

The next LSU head coach is a no brainer. It's Lane Kiffin who is the best qualified and most attractive coach under consideration and it isn't even close.

I mean, who has a better offensive mind than Lane Kiffin?

Who is a better recruiter than Lane Kiffin?

Who has a better record of success other than Lane Kiffin?

I mean, what are Lane Kiffin's biggest faux pas? Quitting Tennessee after only one year to take the USC job where Lane Kiffin cut his teeth on coaching. Then eventually losing that job because of immaturity and because of the harsh probation sanctions that were placed on USC at the time by the NCAA.

In any event, I don't blame Lane Kiffin one bit for leaving that train wreck at Tennessee and since Lane Kiffin lost the USC job, he has spent three years at Nick Saban's coaching rehabilitation clinic being the OC, while winning a natty with them in 2015.

Since then he has parlayed a very successful run as a head coach at Florida Atlantic to make the jump up to Ole Miss. Since he has been at Ole Miss, Lane Kiffin, in my opinion, has been the coach of the year in the SEC for completely turning the Ole Miss program around and making it into a contender, and today, he is by far the best and most qualified candidate to become the next head football coach of LSU.

In fact, it would be a major mistake for Scott Woodward to permit Lane Kiffin to remain at Ole Miss because if Scott Woodward makes that stupid mistake, mark my words, it won't be long at all before Lane Kiffin is not only kicking LSU's butt on the recruiting trail but also on the football field every year at the same time.

Not to mention that Lane Kiffin also wouldn't cost LSU an arm and a leg like some of the other out of reach candidates, such as Jimbo Fisher and Lincoln Riley, would cost and that who are not even as good of a coach as Lane Kiffin.

Indeed, Lane Kiffin would accept the job for only $6 to $6.5 million dollars a year because that is how badly he wants the LSU job. Whereas Fisher or Riley, on the other hand, would cost LSU over $12 million dollars a year and then they are not even as good of a coach as Lane Kiffin.

Finally, for those LSU fans who are foolishly worried about Lane Kiffin's alleged bad calls on fourth down, well prior to last Saturday's game against Liberty, Ole Miss has successfully converted 73.5 percent of those fourth down calls made by Lane Kiffin and in which speaks for itself.

Thus, hiring Lane Kiffin is a no brainer and that is who Scott Woodward will ultimately hire. In fact, I believe it is probably already a done deal.

In fact, I know no one can make another case for a current coach under consideration and on the list for the LSU job that is close to being better than Lane Kiffin. Hence, it's a no brainer, Lane Kiffin will be the next head football coach of LSU to be confirmed shortly after the final A&M game. Say tuned.

Don't listen to the Jimbo Fisher smoke! As Bruce Feldman and this Carl cat are both flying by the seat of his pants on that one to sell newspapers, magazines and copy. When the truth is neither one of those patsies have a clue.
