Why would you think this? Most LSU fans would convince themselves of any of these hires… I just met a random lsu fan in a Texas wedding who wants Jimbo above all candidates. Most people wouldn’t be up in arms. Maybe this board would care because they want Napier badly, but most LSU fans would be happy or indifferent.

I agree, I don't think there would be much of a Melt if it isn't Jimbo, but if it is, I think it's going to be team Napier guys who melt the hardest, from what I've gathered thus far, pertaining to this coaching search is that they are far and away the most close minded posters on here, it's him or bust for those guys, but like you said, most of us will accept whoever the choice is.

I know he isn't from here, but he is familiar to a portion of our fan base, and that part of our fan base let's that familiarity cloud their judgement, this will never change.

TD is not a good barometer of how the normal every day lsu fan will feel imo. They see a big established name being hired, i think most will be ecstatic. It's a huge upgrade from the previous coach hire. Td majority will be upset but casual fans will be right behind it. Not the hire I want but it's a safe hire. Especially not knowing if they were turned down by candidates they have higher on the list.
