There may be 1 or 2 other people that would know the define answer to this.
I don’t hearing most “insiders” but I apply that to Herbstreit too

remember whenever Herbie said Les Miles was going to Michigan, which he was wrong about. The funny thing is had he not been wrong, and Miles accepted the job at Michigan in December of 2006, Nick Saban would probably have gone back to LSU instead of Bama that next month.
Herbie was right but his breaking the story put Miles in a bind before the SECCG and he backed out.

fricked by Herbie again

Let me ask you LSU fans a serious question, why would saban want to ruin something he spent almost 20 years building up at bama? He is revered at bama more than Bryant and that would seem impossible 20 years ago , but he did it. He has a Statue in front of the stadium with his name on the field.
He probably will have streets and more buildings with his name on it sooner than later. People in Alabama love him to death , appreciate him so much, he has a son and a daughter who graduated from bama, why on God's green earth would he want to destroy all of that and go back to LSU for a couple years of more coaching? It doesn't make sense, do you really think a 74 year old man that's worth 300 hundred million dollars will care about 20 million a year? He has all the money he could ever spend already.
I don't understand the logic of what your saying , Nick saban has built a legacy that in this nil days of football no one will ever touch , he's not destroying it to come coach LSU again. You guys think to much of yourself's .

The man is 74 years old. He’s in the twilight so frick off. LSU is not going after him for some reason I keep picturing what’s going on with Bill Belichick if they hired Saban.
Let the man go he’s not coming back to LSU

What do you mean they? I bet you're a Gump, fricking bastards.

That ship sailed Sunday night. He was offered he decided not to take it. Move on.

I call BS. Kirby is making $13M per season. They aren't paying $7 M more than the highest paid coach in the nation to Saban or anyone else.

Trust me the morons that actually believe or keep trolling for attention are most likely one or two people with alters. No intelligent LSU fan actually thinks he is coming. Yes maybe there was a phone call made because you have to do your due diligence but we all know that was probably a quick response from Nick.

Not going to happen and I’m glad
We shouldn’t be acting desperate and the Saban stuff is desperation.
We have a great program and need to get a young guy that wants to come here and build his legacy.

I agree with everything you’ve said here. But having time off can change things. Happens all the time.
That is true. I will say this… Saban is the best to ever do it, my opinion. However, he isn’t what he once was … he had the “deer in the headlights” look during games the past couple of seasons. Father Time is undefeated.

Miles was never offered the Michigan job. Never. He said it. His agent said it. Michigan AD said it. Skip only knows what Miles told him. Miles mainly lived in fantasy land. LSU learned that the hard way, in the end
quote:
Les Miles says U-M hasn't contacted him for job
Detroit Free Press
quote:
Miles’s agent attempted to contact Michigan AD Martin, trying to find out if his client was going to get an offer or not. He couldn’t reach Martin
quote:
Miles knew Carr didn’t want him to be the coach and he didn’t want Carr, in his new position as an associate athletic director, scrutinizing every move Miles made.
quote:
“I love Michigan,” Miles in an interview with a Detroit News podcast. “It does break my heart. I love the place."
Miles went on to say that "roadblocks" got in the way of him taking the job in 2007. He doesn't come out and say it, but it sounds like influential people in maize and blue were against him taking the job. “I don’t know that I was ever really close (to getting the job),” he said. “I was fortunate to be at a decent place. It didn’t work out and I’m sad that it didn’t.
“It did not have to do with the amount of money, it had to do with the decisions that would be made on behalf of Michigan if in fact I would be the head football coach. Sometimes it’s just not in the cards.”

he took Alabama deep into the playoffs with Milroe
That year, the fans wanted to fire Nick,"time has passed him by"...
"we suck, get rid of Milroe, start Simpson"- "nope, Simpson sucks too, we suck" "dynasty is over"
do you remember? I remember well because my daughter is a student at Alabama... we heard those battle cries after that pathetic win at UCF in the rain...
that year was an incredible coaching in my opinion to get that team as far as he did..
Because the players wanted to talk about money and transferring rather than being upset about the lose to Michigan, that kind of did him in
Now he's had 2 years to reset and rest... I am not 100% confident he is done just yet.
Part of me says, yep he's done
then people keep posting things here that Monday is the Nuclear bomb of college football...
that can only mean Nick is coming back to coach..
We know calls were made, because you have to ask the question "do you or don't you want to coach again?"
High achievers get bored real quick...LSU fans understand that much about Nick Saban...He can only handle so much golf, and ESPN podcast interviews or game day prep...before it feels well beneath his interest

This is not true. Please stop. Man this is so embarrassing how delusional some LSU fans can be.

Ok who is it gonna be ?
Who is the next Coach going to be? No one knows. LSU doesn't know, we don't know, boosters, and BOS do not know. LMFAO how is that hard to understand? It is too early to know who the next Coach will be. They haven't even had serious convos with any candidates. Impossible to say.

Haha ok.
How bout non-serious convos? Like, “hey, Dilly! How’s ya mama and dem?”

Talk about thinking too much of yourselves, I’m pretty sure Nick Saban isn’t defining himself through the opinion of average Alabama fan.
