Anyone who suggests John Gruden stopped watching football in 2003
The guy was always massively overrated and can't coach in the modern game, let alone college

1. He has an image brand that I think still reaches to young kids and a personality that excites 2. He’s well connected on many levels of football 3. He’s an offensive minded coach that has had time to study and keep up a new age football 4. He shouldn’t NEED to command top dollar pay w his lawsuit against nfl going well. You’d think he’d want to do this for the experience and putting his stamp on a top level program in the country 5. We have pieces in place to assist w recruiting and nil to not miss a beat 6. We just need a 4-6 year run to set up next guy. Doesn’t need to be a 8-12 year commitment

Yet he is not working now and has been out for a long time over the last 10yrs…

Amazing that we would have insight nobody else has

he was the head coach of an nfl franchise about 4 years ago. you're sort of acting like i'm suggesting bill cowher or some shite.

gruden was always a mid coach that won big with Dungys guys one time and then never did anything else. why in gods name are people still saying this shite twenty years after hes been relevant?

Coaching is so much about the players that a lot of successful coaches aren’t necessarily anything amazing. They just had a great roster or a generational talent at QB for a period of time.

Tons of coaches who have won Super Bowls and national championships have been fired. No one has won a Super Bowl at more than one stop and only two have won a national title at more than one school.

The most reliable way to win is to have the best players, and unless you’re a hell of a recruiter at a top college program, you generally have minimal influence over that.

There’s no magic scheme or program philosophy that wins anywhere at any time.

Gruden has coached 2.5 seasons in the last 17 yrs… he has amassed a mammoth 51% career win percentage.

Ed Orgeron won a championship here and you don’t think Gruden could have success here. You think you’re being smart but it’s honestly not a good take. Having a brand and a hard working ceo goes a long way being a head coach of a program like LSU

The case for Jon Gruden

Has he been rehabilitated yet?

I'd take Ed O back before hiring Jon Gruden.

And before someone says Gruden didn't do anything wrong.... then why did he resign.
