They know WAY WAY WAY better than to contact him BEFORE the game and cause caos. That's what made him not go last time.

They will wait and call him on the way to the locker room after the game.

But don't worry, they have his agents # also...just because he says "he" hasn't talked to Mich, doesn't mean his agent hasn't.

But if your going, then you are just mad that it got leaked, but don't you still go?

UM probably hasn't contacted Les himself, but maybe they have contacted his agent.

You really think they didnt? I really doubt it

Every source I have read Mich AD, Carr, Miles, his agent, Skip, all said there was no contact until after. Then it was a very weak "ya interested?"

So, yeah, on Dec 1st when Miles hadnt been contacted yet was being "outed" as the next Mich., he was offended.

Given what happened last time.

Neither Michigan nor Miles would admit any contact u until after the bowl is over.

This time Les gets to screw over Michigan, like they did him last time. He wiill drag it out, then won't go. They embarassed him big time by not even contacting him last go round. Then RR gets the gig, and screws up the works. Miles doesnt want to "rebuild" Michigan.

I think you're onto something here. Not only did Lloyd Carr and Co. screw Miles last time, they leaked that Miles to Michigan done deal to Herbie (probably via patsy Desmond Howard) and hurt (or tried to hurt) Miles' young men, his FB team ... and that within just a few hours before the SECCG.

I think hurting his team, or trying to, hurt Miles more than anything else. That may have broken the "tie that binds" him to Michigan. Besides, there's still a Carr contingent tangled up in the AD there, then there's the old guard alums who want Miles and the segment that was all Harbaugh.

One thing's for sure up here, having lost Harbaugh to the NFL, none of the contingents want Hoke since he doesn't have any trophy wins, so to speak. He appears to be an up and coming coach, but he hasn't won anything big yet. So, failing that, Michigan is making a behind the scenes run at Miles. That leaves Miles in a position to do some passive-aggressive payback if he so chooses.

Beyond that, who knows what his wife wants? Miles strikes me as the kind of guy who won't act unilaterally without taking his family and what they want into consideration.

All of the above notwithstanding, Michigan is one hot mess right now. Who knows what the die-hard Harbaugh contingent wants now? They could be disruptive or crawl on board in the event Miles goes to Michigan. But one thing's for absolute sure: the Carr contingent will back stab and rabble-rouse and will never accept Miles.

If Michigan wants a fresh start, the Carr insiders have to go, Michigan needs to clean house. In fact, Brandon alluded to the need for all three of the contingents to pull together and act as one in his short fire RR presser yesterday.

Who the hell knows how it'll all end up? I darn sure don't. But I'm thinking Miles stays at LSU, replaces Crowton (that Crowton interview earlier this week sounded like an embittered, whiny-arse parting shot type piece of work to me, FWIW.)

Miles knows this.

At LSU he has some disgruntled fans that can be brought on board with a postive OC change. At Michigan hes got disgruntled power players, before he ever plays his 1st game.

He could be out in 3 years at both Mich and LSU (possibly even D1), if he makes that move. he's here for a long time, with 10 win seasons!!

He knows this

So what if he last 3 years....how old is he? How much longer will his career be?

Its his alma mater and I can certainly see him wanting to give it a shot.

Didn't you start a thread that was immediately taken down saying that you have heard from players that he's staying?

yes I did.

and yet, somehow, there is a thread stating the players feel he is leaving, and guess what, it is still up.

Not exactly correct. Bill Martin (UM's AD at the time) had indeed contacted Les(My people will get with your people sort of thing which is really common nowadays)and this was leaked to ESPN which prompted Herbstreit's bold(but eventually false) prediction that Les was headed back home. In Michigan circles many blamed Martin for botching the Les Miles episode and hold it against him to this day. That being said, it doesn't mean I disagree that Les may dis his Alma Mater. Let's see how it plays out.
