If you can't see how botched this coaching search went, then you aren't looking at this situation objectively.
If you are going to fire Les Miles, who averaged 10-3 every year for over a decade, you need to make sure you are improving the program, not sustaining it or sending it backward. No one believes Coach O will propel this program higher than where it was at. If this proves true, it's a bad hire. I love Coach O, but you don't compete with the Saban's and Meyer's of CFB by going promoting a DL coach when your offense sucks. Accept the fact that LSU is in for a lot of 9-3 seasons in the near future.

You guys that are pumped about this hire aren't football smart. Just because we "like" O doesn't mean he is the best hire. We need offensive innovation! QB development! O isn't bringing that and neither will an OC he hires.
