The Booster's Real Target is Saban, Kiffin is a Backup

MMR is the engineering contractor for the high voltage work on a large project I'm working on. My boss met with higher ups at MMR last week. He asked them about the coaching search as they are major boosters of LSU. Private jet that picked up the Kiffin family was MMR's private jet.

They said that Saban is the boosters primary target and that a deal has been offered. I'm not sure on details, but LSU would give him free reign, a large sum of money, and he'd pick somebody to groom to take his spot after a few years. Only thing holding him back is that he wants the NCAA to enact some proposed changes to rules on NIL and transfer portal before he comes back. Not sure which ones, but I believe it's like only allowing 1 or 2 transfers.

With all the smoke about MMR and Kiffin, I asked him today if MMR said anything about Kiffin to LSU. He said that per MMR, Kiffin would be the backup if Saban didn't fall through.
