1. First of all, I don’t give a shite about his playoff record. I would kill for LSU to make it to the playoffs every year, no matter how many we won

2. If we do pay Riley $12 million per year, Saban will get a raise the very minute Riley signs the contract.

3. Today’s loss does not reduce how much I want Riley here. Dude is 38 years old, and will only get better. Does he even 10 losses in his career yet? All of his critics are morons.

Edit: if you are going to bring his playoff record up, please bring up any other coaches record vs Saban and Swinney

Over the last five years he's lost 9 whole games after today.

Can't you see that means he's terrible?

I live amongst the Sooner horde. Ask them about that.

Trust me, they're completely demoralized every year once the postseason rolls around. They know they'll win a ton of games throughout the season, and they know they'll get embarrassed once they face top competition.

Give me a coach that toughens up when the competition is at its best... not one that is practically guaranteed to fold like rice paper.

I would rather 12-0, lose in playoffs than 9-3 every year

Hopefully he stays at Oklahoma.

Yeah right. If we had someone that went to the playoffs four times without a NC appearance, we'd have the torches ready to run him out of town.

I'd be fine with Riley. But to be so fanatical about him like so many are on here, you'd have to believe in your heart that he could rattle off 3-4 NCs here, right? We're not talking about one NC. We've seen anyone can get that here.

I don't think he can win 3 or more NCs, that's all. Would be satisfied with him leading the program though.

As soon as Saban retires, yes.

This whole idea is ridiculous. Name another coach besides Saban or Dabo that have done this

Hopefully he’s at LSU. Make the argument all you want on price/value. He’s young, viewed as a commodity, won a shite ton of games, denied the Cowboys, and seemingly can recruit to some place in the middle of nowhere “Oklahoma”. Dude seems to run a clean top notch program. Better yet, it appears he wants the job. If you have to beg someone then I’d be out.

My only fear is that he is young. And the NFL will be calling.

When they do, he will go. And then I fear he fails and ends up at Alabama.

If Youre gonna mention saban and Sweeney, you might as well mention O in that statement.

I do think it's ridiculous, which is why I don't know why people are so dug in with a particular coach.

I'm with you. This board is pathetic and a mother fricking embarrassment. Thank the Lord Woodward isn't emotional in making decisions based on one game like the brainless idiots on this board.

In short, Riley has a great resume and makes the playoffs pretty much every year in Oklahoma which is fine with me. Imagine he would do even better here.

Again, this board is delusional.

The whole 0-3 playoff record argument against him makes no sense to me.He was completely outclassed in talent in two of those. And the other one was a double OT loss. Just getting to the playoffs three times before turning 40 is pretty damn impressive. I realize it isn’t a great conference, but Tom Herman/Sark aren’t exactly killing it there.

According to the Rant and CC board LSU can’t hire a coach who has ever lost a game in his career.
