If they fire Sark after one season Texas will fade even further into irrelevance.

The HC is not the problem at UT.

Texas could get Saban and they'd still find a way to be irrelevant with a curse.

He won’t get fired after one season but losing to Kansas in year one is a bad start for him.

Not saying that he will be the next Saban, but Bama did lose to ULM his first year there and lost a good bit of games that season.

But they still finished with a winning record and a bowl win

There is no way Texas can fire Sark in year 1. Barring misconduct, you have to give a guy 3 or 4 years.

However, no one ever accused the administration/boosters at Texas of being smart, so I guess anything could happen...

They gave up on Herman to quickly. Fired him to hire a guy that’s made them even worse lol

They have the same record as us and have lost 5 in a row, soon to be 6 or 7. They have 2 conference games left I think and one is West Virginia who can beat them

Sure we can LSU would have done the same with O 1 season after a national championship had a couple of things gone different. Sark's buyout will be made up in one year in the SEC.

The costs of terminating go beyond just the buyout. If you fire a coach in year one because he's not winning enough for your liking, good luck getting any other decent coach to replace him.

It will confirm what the rest of the CFB world thinks: UT is a dumpster fire, full of money, but a dumpster fire nonetheless that is run by an incompetent administration and boosters who think their checks give them the right to meddle unchecked.

Any coach with a pulse would know they could win more than 4 games and beat Kansas their first year. By that same token good luck getting a coach to come after firing the coach who ran train on the CFB world 20 months earlier. Firing Sark would be much more justified than firing O when they did.
