considering the shitshow that is texas football, do you think texas regrets getting rid of herman now?

herman dealt with the same pampered, entitled texas bullshite while he was there.

who wins the herman "sweepstakes" this year. only reason he didn't get a hfc job this past offseason was the belated nature of his firing.

he's a weird arse dude, but helluva football coach.

will there be a no kissing clause in his contract, and maybe child services steps in when it's time for him to name another child.

I really think Herman lost the team over the extreme wokeness of Austin and players. He never really took a strong stand one way or another over all the players demands and sang the fight song as well.

He never really has a chance there.

i think he ends up at tcu.

i think he's the best coach available for cfb. optics i guess are the reason he isn't talked about more.

would be better at LSU than any of the other realistic candidates. aranda/tucker/napier/franklin.

That liberal shithole that is Austin creates a disadvantage for any coach. Culture issue

Unfortunately, I don't believe that. They have been in the wilderness since they let Mack Brown go, and figured they would hire Saban.

Instead they got Charlie Strong, Tom Classless Herman, and Sark after Dark.

Point being... don't be t.u. But don't ever count them out.

they're pretty much too big to fail forever. herman had some success, but i just think it's the entitled boosters and soft arse players.

too many moma's boys on that team.

i agree with this. on one side you have the boosters and alum saying that "eyes of texas" is our song and we stand for it, on the other you have the players threatening to leave the program rather than stand for it. there really wasn't a middle ground option even though he tried to walk a tight rope between the two:

side with the boosters/alum = lose the team
side with the team = lose alumni support and $$

no win situation

I questioned if Texas would get off the mat after imploding against Oklahoma, and to be fair, they showed up against Oklahoma State and Baylor, but they blew those late, too.

Their last three games will be interesting. They're all very winnable, but it's hard to know what to expect from them after the beatdown in Ames.

If they can't get bowl eligible, I think there will be some regrets. And perhaps a realization their problems are deeper than just the head coach.

I think they regret getting rid of Mack Brown. 2010 was his singular sub .500 season and his records had fallen off a bit after the loss to Alabama, but he left Texas with a .767 overall winning percent.

Since his return to NC in 2019 / 20 - 14
Texas in the same time period / 19 - 13

Looks like they could have had similar results...just without the 16-21 Charlie Strong era

Texas should just give Sark time to build his culture with his players. Herman left divas.
