Tell me why Arapier should get the job over Holgerson

Assuming we miss on the bigger fish, if the list is down to Aranda or Napier why wouldn’t Holgerson deserve an interview as well?
The guy was a very well respected assistant under several of the most innovative minds in college football history for a decade before taking the West Virginia job.
He won the Big East in year 1 and dropped 70 on Clemson in the Orange Bowl before they moved to the Big 12.
He was a favorite of a lot of people during the Miles to Arkansas talk in 2012.
The difficulty of recruiting kids to Morgantown to play in a conference based 1,000 miles away was pretty apparent, and after middling around the Big 12 for several (with another 10 win season in 2016), he decided to head back to the South where he had spent his career, and took over a Houston program that had fallen on tough times after a couple of good seasons under Herman.
He currently has Houston at 10-1 and ranked in the top 20 with a showdown with board favorite Fickel and Cincinnati coming up in two weeks.
He identified Doug Belk, a GA at Alabama for a few years, and brought him to WV for a couple of years as secondary coach before promoting him to DC when he brought him to Houston. He has proven to be a great find and hire and has the Houston defense ranked fifth in the country.
Houston is also averaging over 38 ppg and 400 yards per game, with a balanced attack of 268 passing 150 rushing.
When comparing his career to other candidates like Aranda and Napier, I don’t think there’s any reason he shouldn’t get a look before the trigger is pulled on either of those guys.
His elite offensive background, which he has proven he can adapt from pure air raid to a more balanced attack, and ability to find and retain quality assistants on both sides of the ball make him more than qualified.
And before the “he’s a drunk” idiots chime in, no he isn’t. There were a couple of reports that he was asked to leave a casino or bar in 2011 before he ever became a HC, that were later found to be noise drummed up by Bill Stewart’s camp who didn’t like that WV brought in his succesor, which is why he resigned before 2011 and Holgerson took over early.

Holgs is happy in Houston..he doesn't have the work ethic to cut it at a P5 school and doesn't like to recruit. He's also BFs with Fertilla (sp) so he'll be staying put

If one is to shy away from coaches with off-the-field issues, one most CERTAINLY does not hire Dana Holgorsen.

Dude he flopped at West Virginia. No thanks.

He likes to party, seen him around the watering holes in Morgantown many times. As long as he stays away from Joe Deforest and Shannon Dawson, he seems to be on better behavior.

Like Holgorsen as a coach but not a fit at this level

There’s many arguments to support why he should not be LSU’s next coach. He’s average. Many average coaches have succeeded at Houston. For starters, look at his recruiting ranking. He has UH ranked 85th in recruiting, below a bunch of inferior schools.
Napier has ULL ranked higher in recruiting than UH while coaching in a worse conference and having worse facilities.
For “not being a good recruiter”, Aranda has Baylor ranked 36th in recruiting. Pretty impressive for Baylor.

The Casino would CERTAINLY approve of this hire, and would raise there revenue projection for 2022.

All of his classes at WVU except one were ranked in the 30s.
Given how hard it was to draw recruits to Morgantown given their distance from the Big 12 footprint I’d say he did as well as could be expected.

He also won the Big East and an Orange Bowl, plus another 10 win season in the Big 12 in 2016.
Add that to his elite coordinator experience in the Big 12 plus another 10-12 win season at Houston with a potential AAC title.
If he’s “average” I don’t see how Aranda or Napier can be considered any better.

Morgantown isn’t THAT tough, it’s near Pittsburgh, Ohio, and the DMV. They get leftovers from Penn State and OSU, but there’s plenty to field good teams.
Rich and Stewart both recruited better than Dana. Holgo made his living off transfers.

You realize that Houston isn’t his first stop right? He has a history of being a head coach prior to U of H. That’s a hard no baw.
History aside, I would t want a head coach that looks like he has to drink strong cups of coffee through out the day and eat Disulfiram to keep himself from shotgunning 6 packs of Natty Light.

Napier has more hair than Holgorsen. Remember what we did to the last few guys wh were balding...receding hairline.
Mike Archer .....gone
Les Miles - gone
Hell, Cholly Mac - gone
Saban - now receding.....left.
Do you really want to chance it?
