Breaking per ESPN’s Chris Low. Title to be named later. Welcome home champ!

LSU was not seriously pursuing Martin. He was looking to go to Miami or Tennessee

I'm shocked we were able to bring him back, thought for sure it was over when Vandy offered him OC

Maybe not as OC, but you'd have taken him as a position coach and don't tell me you wouldn't.

Lsu wanted him. O spoke with him and Tee liked the offer. Tee’s wife did not want to move Louisiana.

She probably didn't want him at Tennessee either TBH.

She's a West coast woman.

To you and Tigerbaitlawyer:

Let me reword, I don’t believe he was ever serious about coming here. If I remember correctly his wife works in music entertainment. I figured he’d go to Miami or Tennessee for that reason mainly.

Of course we’d like him as WR coach. I didn’t say otherwise. Don’t be so defensive. It’s a good hire unless he’s calling plays.

I know we had interest but it didn’t seem that he was that serious or he would have been named the moment Sullivan retired. It was obvious it wasn’t a done deal. The more time passed I figured it had to do with his old lady

So what's the plan now?

Sean S?

I posted yesterday outside of Sullivan retiring, I don't see any changes.

Seems like we get a lot of this doesn’t it? They made a big run at kingsbury but couldn’t get a deal done. Going after this guy or that guy...ultimately you get Eauxs buddy who isn’t really the most qualified at the present time. It’ll be interesting to see if we make an legit hire or more of the same

Probably getting Kevin Faulk onto the field as a coach now but with Robinson here who knows how that will work. We have Mickey as WR currently and Robinson as RB. I doubt he'd want to give up his duties to be purely a recruiting coordinator.

Everything I've seen discussed with Sean is he would only be brought in as an analyst, not a position coach.

I was listening to Hester's show last night and they think the hire will be someone who has been fully immersed in the RPO/spread offense. They said it doesn't necessarily have to be a QB coach or WR coach. That said, they did not indicate any inside knowledge.

LSU wasn’t going after Tee Martin. As of right now I believe they hire a guy from the NFL.
