if this is what you think of Sherman coached teams there is no way you ever really watched an A&M game.
Had Sherman seriously run the ball with the backs he had he would still be HC.
the dude was allergic to the run game.

You can have him.
He should have hired an offensive coordinator. He probably is a great CEO-type coach, but we needed an OC.
3rd quarters were a KILLER.
We have the talent to be competitive, we are consistently top 25 recruiting wise, he just couldn't turn it into on field results.
I'm glad that we bit the bullet while entering the SEC. Might as well rip the bandaid off all at once instead of slowly pulling with the entering the SEC this year and then in a couple of years ripping more when firing him. Get it all done at once.

The problem wasnt that Sherman lost games, its that he lost games he shouldn't have.
Lets face it, Fran left us in a terrible spot and he Sherman took over a rebuilding job, it was going to be rough for awhile. But, there were plenty of WTF losses (bad, embarassing losses even at Home) that just left your head scratching every single season.
Even last season, despite the awesome 6 game win streak, we had three losses (including getting manhandled by Mizzou at Kyle) and of course a blown double digit lead in Stillwater.
I agree with the poster that said a good coach could have done better. I have nothing against the man and I hope he lands on his feet but he deserved to be let go.

THIS. With the possible exception of the Arkansas St. debacle (his first ever game) in '08, Sherman won pretty much all the games he was supposed to win. Problem was, he'd have us in position to take it to the next level against stiff competition and screw the pooch almost without fail. Some of that's on the players, of course, but when it's a pattern the HC is held accountable.
