Look man, I'm glad you're coming to the page to talk Tigers. But, you need to swallow the pill that LSU is and will be talking to your guy Riley. LSU might not land him, but LSU is a better job than Oklahoma. I'm not saying it's much better, but it is better.

The state of Oklahoma hasn't produced a skill position player since the class of 2012(Sterling Shepherd.) OU has to leave the state to find their crop. They have taken advantage of FSU, Miami, Texas and USC all being down right now which won't last forever.

The state of Louisiana produces skill position players like apples on a tree. There is virtually no competition in state. LSU is top 3 in producing NFL talent on both sides of the ball, their resources are endless and two average coaches won a Natty.

Riley isn't loyal to OU. He didn't go there. It's not his home. He wants to win a Natty and it's easier to do that at LSU. He might stay, he might go. Who knows.

Riley hasnt even so much as responded, and has taken subtle shots at how LSU does its coaches

What are these subtle shots? All I know he’s said is that he doesn’t think the increase in these mid season firings are no good for the sport. That’s not a shot at LSU. If anything, it’s more about his displeasure with having to field job opening questions during the season.

He said its not good for the game

He said the NCAA should adopt the NFL rule where both teams have to agree to a lateral move. Does that sound like a guy thinking OK would release him to LSU?

His agent is stringing us along, so LSU doesnt make a splash hire. Why does he want LSU to land a top tier coach, with him coming into the SEC to play against that guy?

Rileys deadline passed before Ed was fired. SW didnt fire ED and pay his full buyout, without having his replacement ready to go

Every single thing you just posted is an opinion of yours.

No its not. Fickell isnt even taking offers yet. SW moved on

Fickell: I don’t talk to anybody, I barely talked to my own family during the season, and, you know, so I wouldn’t ever talk about it, nor would I have even answered a phone call or anything like that.

Stability is great in this business and when you can create some stability in the things around you, the grass is not always greener and it does make you realize what great fortunes you have to be building something and have some stability – not just for you as a person and you as a family guy, but you as a program and the kids in the program.

But everything you posted is a guess by from a sauce

You don't know that. Hiring a coach isn't like hiring anything else, mostly because we are still in season. Good candidates are still winning.

If I'm Woodward, I would have a handshake deal with someone and then interview 15 other people. I'd want to keep all of the attention off of my primary target. I'm able to do this by spreading the attention amongst all the candidates, nothing will leak because everything will leak.

I do this not for my sake, but for his, that way the relationship starts on a high note where you have a boss that you trust to protect you from outside noise.

Fleck just signed a new contract with a larger buyout.

eople are being told that the list starts with Riley. Followed by Rhule then Tucker.

while it would be awesome to get Rhule or Sean Payton, they aren't leaving the NFL to come here. Riley leaving Oklahoma for LSU would be bizarre for so many reasons. HOwever Tucker, or Matt Campbell would be a great hire. Both seem they may be within our reach and fit the criteria. Wouldn't mind Fleck being considered either. Him or Napier would be homerun hires as well.

For me, if you look at reality, along with being great hires, its got to be one of either Tucker, Campbell, Fleck or Napier in no particular order.

from what I have read on here it is not that big of a buyout. We could afford him if we really want to go after him and if he would want to come here.

He and Urban would be my top 2. Similar situations. I feel if either left the NFL, you wouldn’t have to worry every year about the NFL calling. Can’t say the same for Riley.

I hope not. Tucker is garbage. He will set the program 5-7 years at least.

Can you tell me Rhule has done as HC at any level to make you think that? Not trying to be jerky...but j/c. I know he did an admirable job at both Temple/Baylor but I think he ends up getting fired from Carolina in the next couple years. I just don't see that "championship" pedigree that SW is said to want in the next coach. I would rather Rhule than Jimbo but that's a low bar for me.

Tucker is not even in the top half of the 2nd tier on the list. Fleck is dogshit and isn’t even remotely being considered. You outed yourself with that one.
