The only way I would support the hire of Orgeron is with performance and contract guarantees in place. Performance - no less than 10 wins and a SECCG win in first 2 years. Contract - Aranda retained. Proven OC with "modern" offense. BDP, Grimes & Craig released. Ed O clause put in Alleva's contract (he goes when Orgeron goes). 2 year contract, only way to extend is to win SECCG.

If you need all that to make you feel alright with hiring a coach, why the hell would you want him? LSU is a top job in college football now. We can do MUCH better.

Im fine with a coach not getting involved in offensive or defensive calls. I do have an issue when we have time management type issues. Our problems start before game day

I know one thing and that is the rest of the SEC will sigh with relief if LSU named Orgeron as head coach. You know damn well there would be much concern if Jimbo or Herman took over.

Well this is all pretty dumb for a myriad of reasons...but this...

Is the pits man. Aranda did not come to LSU to work for O. And he is obviously one of the top DCs out there. Why would connect him at the hip with O?

well yea. I have always stood with the idea of Jimbo/Herman unless O was to win out and now he has lost 2 games. I think he dropped to mid tier. The saving grace for O is he is a super recruiter and he knows alot of good coaches that he could bring in. The concern has been some crunch time stuff. I think he keeps hanging around in theses convos because he is pitching some strong ideas.

This person right here gets the point.

Never said I'd like him hired with those conditions, I said it's the only way I'd support the hire.

I'm not gonna lie. I'm scared to death still. I can't believe some of the excuses still flying around in this thread for O. "Get him a new staff", "This isn't his team". I'm still scared guys.

I'll never support an O hire, and the only way to convert me would be if he won an NC.

Orgeron has kind of fast forwarded his regression model. It used to take his teams most of a year before they started losing all focus.

The talent difference between LSU and Florida was such that LSU really played like shite and almost won. Talent doesn't overcome a lack of attention to the goals in front of your team.

No coach would agree to that and if he did, I guarantee his assistants wouldnt agree with it. And theres no way Alleva would agree to it as well.

I do agree with getting rid of Grimes and Peveto then replacing them with Mawae and Ron Zook.

I dont mean this derogatory, but i seriously don't know what he does while on the sidelines. They show him pretty often, and i never see him talking into his headset or coaching up a player.

Weird.

Yeah but screw the ideas. LSU needs a coach that will not depend on another person in order to make them great offensively. How anyone wouldn't want a qb guru or offensive minded coach at LSU is beyond me considering that has been our Achilles heel that has cost us so dearly.

Yea im not sure what he is doing on the sidelines. I think he took being out of the way a little too far. Honestly he is behind Fleck and the Mike Macyintrye (sp). IMO both of those should be over shitty arse Fedora.
