Age/health not a huge concern if they have reached out to cutcliffe. Many used this as a negative against miles in terms of getting the Michigan job.

Like you, I hope Les goes to Michigan. However, we were teased in 2011 during Michigan's last "coaching search". I'm not getting my hopes up this time either. I've just come to accept that Les will be at LSU for 8-10 seasons.
Sigh....

Please let him stay at LSU. I don't want to imagine how good they'd be with a competent head coach.

Les is at the end of his career, if Michigan offers him a good salary, I think he might actually jump. Half the fan base doesn't agree or support him anymore. The TAF has been putting pressure. Les might actually want to coach at his dream school, his Alma Mater. This would be his last chance, to resurrect his school then retire and live the life. I think people are underestimating the situation. If you think just because Les has told players and Media he hasn't heard from Michigan or will stay at LSU, it doesn't mean he is. Coaches will always have to down play this, it affects recruiting as well. Lets say the 49ers coach gets the job(won't happen) and Les was saying he was gonna jump the ship, it ruins a lot of things. I have a feeling there is more going on about this situation then people realize. It will getting interesting as we inch towards the bowl game, I don't see Michigan waiting an eternity to hire someone. There aren't a lot of good coaches available.

ultimately i think michigan will wait until the end of the nfl season before they finally give up on harbaugh. until then i think we are gonna be here on the CC board sweating it out.

They won't need to wait that long. Once Seattle cranks the Niners this weekend, there will be no need for Harbaugh to stay any longer.

If its Miles, they will likely announce it before the bowl season. Let him coach his last game and beat the frick out of the Irish.. and man that would be a fun game to watch him coach like he used to.
