There is a reason the NFL - Reid, Belick,

the iggles, who are running a spread-style offense, and the pats, who have been running a spread-style system for over 5 years, are the examples you want to use for "Traditional" offenses?

The Eagles and Pats offensive schemes do not resemble Holgason's designs. They are more diversified and use TE's, unablanced lines, and heavy packages more extensively than Holgason.

Will most likely happen this year. It's better to be early with the changing times than trying to play catch up

and that's the NFL

but since 2005, plenty of teams have won titles with the spread option

2005 Texas
2006 Florida
2008 Florida

and AS OF NOW, the champ in 2010 will run a spread option

Say bye to your TE's is holgerson is hired. LSU OC is obviously a better job than OSU OC but I really dont see holgs leaving to take another OC job, he wants to be a HC

SFP, my point is that Steve Logan is the man for OC job. My second point is that I don't want Dana Holgason's, Leach or Sumlin's offense. They don't run the spread option that you reference with Florida, Oregan, or Auburn and do not use the QB as a running back. We need a pro influened attack that the big boys use.

I think he's asking has anyone won it all with the uptempo spread/ Air Raid offshoots. last I checked, those were the base for OU's offense, and they were in championship games a few time early in the decade. Leach was their OC in Stoops first yr and then Mangino took over from there.

I think that type of offense could work with us. might scale back the passing some and not go uptempo every drive, but it's just a matter of tinkering with it.

speaking of, does Mangino get a new gig this yr?

i have to think he does, but he has to scout out which athletic departments have doorways wide enough for him

when was that? I thought Kragz was on deck.

There was a day in early January when someone was reporting that Crowton was out and Logan was a likely replacement.
