Leaves Little Nicky high and dry. Plus Coffee and Smith go pro. The West title gets closer to Baton Rouge every day. LSU titles

Right, because Bama lost a coordinator

Steele could not tie his shoes without permission from Saban. His loss is a Non Factor for Bama.

Just another coach through the revolving door in Satanloosa

Yea, it definitely seems that way. To go from Defensive Coordinator at Bama to Defensive Coordinator at Clemson, must have been uncomfortable.

Which coordinator did they lose?

So you're saying Bama didn't lose their defensive coordinator? ...because Kevin Steele was not their DC

it does make you realize how much of an arse Saban really is, dude has only been there for 2 yrs and in that span 2 players (so far) are entering the draft, he lost his OC after his first yr, and this yr he is losing a D coach.

So, in miles tenure w/have lost 1 oc & 3 dc's.

Really poor comparison. Think about it just a little bit.

My apologies ... the SEC West title is clearly heading back towards Baton Rouge because Bama lost their Associate Head Coach/Head Defensive Coach.

It doesn't matter who the DC at Bama is, whether the name is Steele or Whatever. The DC under Saban is merely a figurehead and DC in name only.

Our defense is definitely fricked now.

Didn't Alabama have co-defensive coordinators?

He was promoted from DC to assistant head coach of defense. So, his point stands to a degree.
The truth is Saban is the DC.

First of all, this thread is such old news the word "Germans" doesn't even begin to describe it. Secondly, Steele was not, by title, Alabama's DC. That title is with Kirby Smart. Kirby Smart, as most know, is the DC only by name because Nick Saban will always be the DC of his teams. Sure, Kevin Steele is a great coach, but this isn't a huge setback for Alabama. Also, Steele left because at Clemson it will be his defense. At Alabama he had to answer to Saban and at times Kirby Smart as well.
