One staff got executed after the season, the other is being lauded on the Coaching Changes board?...

Personally, I think the world of Campbell and have for a year or two now. He gets the most out of his guys and has been successful now at two stops where football isn’t really a huge deal. The run game concepts Iowa state uses as well are a thing of beauty, tons of pulling tight ends. Also don’t put the “he can’t recruit” on him. Imagine trying to recruit kids to come to the state of Iowa, much less Iowa state.

Gotta recruit at LSU to win. He isn’t a good recruiter.

But you’d miss on guys who request $300k to play college football.

If Iowa State tried that, the NCAA would drop the hammer on their asses. It’s ok for Texas, LSU, Bama, Ohio State and a few others to do it, though. Campbell would get the NCAA’s blessing if he moved to one of those teams.

Agree on fit might not work....in a league where the top dogs are buying players with approx $1.5M annually you need HC to navigate/deny appropriately.

Napier knows how to bury skeletons in the SEC and still coach sound ball.
