There's several factors that make me believe he will be.

Cincinnati will not make the CFP this year or any year for that matter unless they flat out dominate everybody due to the weak conference they play in.

Fickell wants to compete for a national championship and the SEC is the way to do it.

He inherits a very talented team if he takes the head coaching job at LSU.

His name recognition would immediately be an instant draw for recruits not only in Louisiana, but nation wide.

On my list, he's who I would want. He's young and has been a proven winner. The timing couldn't be mo right!

They’re heading to the Big 12. He’s also not leaving the Midwest.

There is a very very good chance they make the playoff this year. I’d love for it to be Fickell but when they join the big 12 which will be weaker than ever that opens the door for Cincy to be that top big 12 team.

Fickell has a much better chance of becoming the next LSU coach than names such as Jimbo, Dabo, or even a BoB, Kiffen.

It has been real quiet on the Fickell front though considering he was a top 5 choice when this search began.

They probably make it in over OU if both win out.

If Fickell wants the SEC, then Florida may be his new home.

I agree that Fickell would be a home run hire. Look at his profile..... He has been a winner at everything he has ever tried at every level.

Fickell started his playing career at St. Francis DeSales High School, where he was a two-time first team All-Ohio defensive tackle

A three-time state champion in wrestling.

After redshirting for Ohio State in 1992, Fickell was a standout defensive player, making a school-record 50 consecutive starts at the nose guard position from 1993 to 1996.

Fickell was named as the 39th head coach of the University of Cincinnati, taking the place of the resigning Tommy Tuberville.[12]

In his first season, Fickell led the Bearcats to a 4–8 record.

2018 would be a historic turnaround of the program, finishing with an 11–2 record and a victory in the Military Bowl. Fickell was named AAC Coach of the Year for the 2018 season, which was only the third 11-win season in UC history.

He led the team to another 11-win season in 2019. The Bearcats reeled off nine straight wins after falling to Ohio State in the second game of the year.

This year the Bearcats went into South Bend and beat Notre Dame, they are undefeated and will probably be in the palyoffs.

Pretty sure they’re making it this year. The Oregon loss was huge for them.

But I do think Fickell would be a very good hire for LSU.

Just stop with your "Midwest" bullshite. I do not want to see "Midwest" again from you butt heads. Money talks, and bullshite walks. If Woodrow were to triple Fickell's salary, Fickell would be relocating to "MID"deepsouth. Butt heads!

Luke is going to inflict pain upon our SEC opponents and others while more than tripling his current salary.

I feel like he’s been blown off so hard because of the “Midwest” thing that it could absolutely happen under the radar basically hiding in plain sight at this point.
