I agree 100%. This whole fiasco, (largely created by the media and internet) surrounds rumors, allegations, assumptions, and innuendo revolving around people with way too much money and not very much common sense.

DUH - the dinner was with Dubya not Obama. You don't know your Saban history very well do you?
No, I don't know my Saban history outside of W-L's at LSU and Bama. And you apparently don't recognize ATTEMPTED humor.

So Saban would be held responsible for the balance if he failed to fulfill 10yrs of service.

He would be basically selling his self and wife and the note holders would have complete and total control over him = total control over the program.

Doesn't make sense considering how much of a control freak Saban is.

Lsu fans had to hear about the NFL wanting saban every year he was here in Baton Rouge. It was old. It was "same old same old"

Saban loved BR! Terry did too! Blah blah blah

He then told everyone on Christmas Day that he was leaving. It happened just like this minus the complicated Mack brown situation.

And then he left, didn't he TheDoc? He left, and you were sad and angry and confused. It's understandable - a lot of people see the coach of their favorite team as a hero and would feel somehow "betrayed" if they left for another job. Right? I mean, you trusted him and he left you! Not just LSU, he left YOU.

And it's difficult to forgive. It was CHRISTMAS! The day SANTA COMES! So, you hate him. You seethe for a couple of years, and then HE (HIM!) has the gall to come back to the SEC West at another school. And even worse, he has MORE success there! By God, he is almost spitting directly in your eye, TheDoc! No wonder you're upset! This is SO PERSONAL!

So, every year, you come up with reasons why he's going to leave. EVERY YEAR. But he never does. Why? WHY DOESN'T HE LEAVE THEM LIKE HE LEFT ME? You read articles and pick them apart to find reasons why this year will be the year. You hear conversations and theories and they all add up to one thing - you didn't do anything wrong. It's not your fault. He didn't leave because of you, he left because he's A LEAVER. He's a liar and a leaver and no one can have him because you can't have him.

Am I close? I'm pretty sure I am.

Where is your righteous indignation of Texas and their fans then?

Considering they just bought off 40MM of debt for Saban.

Very weird that we didn't hear a peep about this potential bankruptcy 12 months ago when Cleveland was offering him $10mm/yr and part ownership of teh Browns franchise.

Well, considering the Houston complex didnt go under until 2/12 & Perkins Rowe wasnt sold at auction until 4/13, and The Pointe at Lake Burton wasnt sold at auction until 6/13, Sabans partners probably told him theres nothing to worry about. So he passed on the Browns offer.

But since the Browns offer, hes had a lot to worry about

I do know that when Mal Moore was courting Saban - all Mal had to do was make a few phone calls to a few BOT members and a few wealthy Bama boosters and those men opened their wallets.

You dont get it

UT has bought up the loans. It aint for sale no more

Nick either works with UT to forgive it, or works for UT to pay it out year after year after year

You probably think so, but the fleeting shameful joy in another's tears won't make up for the bitter taste of nine years worth of your own.

So now you went from this:

I can't tell anyone what nick saban is going to do.

To this:

So doc, which side of the road are you on? Pick a side. C'mon, you can do it.

Developer Tommy Spinosa and his partners in Rouzan have refinanced their debt on the traditional neighborhood development and paid off the 12-month loan

Engquist declines to discuss the specifics of the deal, but sources familiar with the situation say the balance of the note was around $14 million.

Spinosa, through a spokesman, declines to comment. —

Saban's finances are no one's business but his. This is great conspiracy theory but it makes no sense and is ZERO benefit to LSU. Saban at Texas would continue to recruit Louisiana. Alabama would find a Les Miles equivalent coach to take his place who would still have to recruit in Louisiana. Be careful what you wish for.
