Well other sources have said they have met face to face

Y’all are gullible if you believe Riley met with Woodward in the middle of a game week.

Coaches never meet in person with other schools while their season is still going. Everything is done thru back channels and with agents.

For example, Calipari had a deal in place to go to Arizona after Lute Olson officially retired. The deal was stuck in September and Jim Livengood never even spoke to Cal. Unfortunately, Kentucky decided to fire Gillispie and reached out to Cal. Arizona got screwed and Cal felt so bad he reached out to his buddy, Sean Miller, and talked him into taking the job.

Point being is you guys better cool your jets because this could fall apart at any second. If OU wins tonight there is no way there will be any meeting or announcement tomorrow. If its true Riley has been adamant with Caleb Williams family he is staying in Norman throughout Caleb's time as a Sooner then we are being played.

How big of a fool would one have to be to turn down $100M because you made a promise to a HS kid and his parents that he’d be his coach for 3 years?

Not even Williams parents would turn away from that kind of money.

Think about how that conversation goes…

Agent: Coach, you’ve been offered $100M dollars and as much support staff as you’d like

Coach: Sorry guys. I promised this 18 year old kid when i was recruiting him that I’d coach him for 3 years and watch him go off to the NFL

Honestly, would you want someone that stupid running your multi million dollar program?

I just gave you good reporting without posting anything definite. It was quite literally everything we know right now without saying “he has signed.”

I’ve sat in the room every damn Monday for 3 years as we all would lob soft ball questions to Les every week. We all knew the rules with Les.

Feels like more of the same. People know stuff but don’t want to do good journalism.

Of course I want Matt Campbell. Every smart football fan should want MC. I’ve said Matt Campbell was my 1B.

I know a few OU fans that seriously support the program. None of them have been happy with Riley. I disagree that OU needs to win today for LSU to get Riley. If OU loses, OU may be done with him anyway. I hope we don’t fall for the Breh Rabbit BS.

I was mad at Shea for not having information on what was happening with recruiting because of the signing.

Shea posted a big long article, but said nothing. I asked Shea how recruits know, but he won’t actually say what he knows

Ever since the 5 for 5 fiasco the crew at 247 has as much confidence as a 3 legged cat walking in sand. They refuse to stick their necks out even when they have the info. They are scarred for like lol!

So Woodward hired a coach without interviewing him?

Ummmm this would be like you interviewing Saban. Do you actually think they would? Nope. It is all through agents. It isn’t like a coordinator here and you’re talking scheme.

You get an agreement in principle ie verbal and then meet to finalize.

Agreed, Matt Campbell would kill it at LSU. Better coach than Riley but the average fools can't see it

Every last bit of this! I think the same way about people saying that Lincoln is "too committed to OU" to leave for more money. Right now he makes north of 7 million. LSU is offering 12 million.

I don't give a frick WHO YOU ARE or WHERE YOU LIVE or WHAT TEAM YOU'RE COACHING. You take that raise and run to the job! That's generational money. When you wake up in the morning you're a man before being a coach. You're a husband and a father before being a coach. You have responsibility to ensure that your family is financially taken care of. frick the notion that you'd turn down that kind of money. And let's be frank, LSU is a better gig anyway. I know those dirt rednecks don't want to admit that, but it is.

Do we need then to win so there is an announcement? Or would the announcement just be delayed if they won?.

Because giving a guy a huge contract dependent on 1 game is idiotic.

The more this thing lingers, the more that could go wrong.

This sounds the most believable of any rumor regarding Lincoln. Nothing is done until it can actually be done. All of this kick your feet up and relax crap is BS.

There's always the chance that unforeseen circumstances can derail this thing. Things can change by the hour.
