I read daily about "boosters want this or need that" or "boosters money will be a deciding factor " etc. I also read how many times a program (Texas, Tennessee, USC etc.) has been destroyed due to catering to the boosters choices for a coach.

LSU gets literally hundreds of millions of dollars from the SEC TV contact. Therefore the AD should choose the coach he feels is best to win...damn the boosters and their money.

Maybe the "boosters" should have some influence over who gets to be the AD, but let the AD do his damn job.

You think the state of Louisiana is going to pay a $17 million buyout and $11 million per year for a new coach

Don't need it. See above about the SEC TV contract. Let the boosters fund the NIL going forward because paying 5 stars aint that hard but hiring a competent coach is.

We know boosters are just a ploy by the government to give insurance providers more profit.

How many boosters advocated for Ed O?

I'll hang up and listen to what got us in this mess to begin with.

When you dump 30 million to clean up LSU's shite, I'd imagine you have some clout. They also build LSU's facilities and are the first they go to when they need a project done. They don't just clean LSU's shite up, they contribute huge money to the university every year that does things like build new facilities. They allow LSU to keep the machine oiled and also are partly why you get the recruiting classes we do. C'mon dude you can't be this dumb?

So where does the 100's of millions that the football team gets from the TV contract go?

Many of those "Boosters" not only contribute money to the Football program and Taf but also different collages at LSU either through their companies building a new engineering department or new dorms for the students to live in or the Nutrition Center. Yes they deserve a say or to at least be heard when it comes to coaching hires...

But you go ahead end wait on LSU to make a decision on the ESPN money

No, they literally don't. Not even close.

Even with the new TV contract that won't kick in until 2024 each member school is expected to receive $68 million. That is up from the roughly $40 million or so each school receives now.

The SEC signed a new $300 million deal with ESPN last year that gives the network rights to all SEC football games starting in 2024 and is expected to bump the conference's annual distribution to its members to about $68 million.

LINK

While the gap is closing, ticket sales and "contributions" STILL account for the largest revenue source.

damn the boosters and their money.

Fine...then don't get upset when LSU can't fire their HC because the cost of doing so is prohibitive.

I know you have some connections but you can’t possibly believe that THIS hire will be influenced by politics. While SWW is a political animal, the fact is his job and more importantly where he wants to go primarily depends on this hire. How he navigates Title IX is almost second to this at this point because they are so closely connected. I don’t for 1 minute that the decision will be by committee as should be the case. Once he has his candidate, he will get Tate’s opinion AND MAYBE a few close confidants. TAF will not be on the approval side for sure as this is HIS decision with MAYBE Tate overriding it. The BOS are a bunch of puppets considering how they have behaved the last several years. In fact, they are a joke from the accountability perspective. Everything has been immediately approved that The last several ADs have put before them including paying Jonny Jones and Fargas. They Fargas extensions were an example of a bunch of scared kids that didn’t want to do the right thing and fire her. The “optics” overrode the reality that she was a bad hire and even worse extension.

Because they pay the millions and millions for a coaching change and most expect a say so with their money.
