Ah, so he’s a quitter?
Got it. We really dodged a bullet. Had too many of those already

Again, I like Riley who is a good coach. But he hasn’t done anything for ppl to claim he’s top 3.

They are called Chokelahoma for a reason.

I’m not making any top 3 claims; I’m not sure Riley is the best investment. He’s our guy though, and has been for weeks. It’s safe to say his time was split during Baylor week.

No, Florida is hiring a coach that has a proven track record of success in building a program and Lincoln Riley is a middling coach that inherited Bob Stoops program and this year has struggled to beat the likes of Tulane.
Florida is making a much better hire and for less money. LSU is paying a guy who’s marketed himself really well.

Whatever makes you feel better about shopping at the bargain bin, it’s okay, everybody can’t be elite.

I'm not sure I'd claim he's top 3 right now, but there are only two coaches with more CFP appearances, and those two guys are at Alabama and Clemson.
Ryan Day at Ohio State is tied with Lincoln Riley with four appearances each. It is looking like Day will likely pull ahead 5-4 this season. I think Day is a tiny step ahead of Riley in "best coaches" ranking, but it's minimal.
Lincoln may not be quite top 3, but if he's not he isn't far off. The belief/hope is that at LSU with the resources and recruiting, he will transition up into that extremely upper echelon without much difficulty.

Florida doesn't want Lincoln Riley sooooo no.

But there is nothing attractive about going to LSU relative to Florida. LSU is broke and their fans are so irrational, it would make much more sense for Lincoln to go to Florida.

So LSU is paying $20 million plus to fire a coach..
And $100 million for a new coach, and you think we’re broke?

No. And this is why all those saying that Woodward was dumb for firing O when he did are clueless.
