I'm sure once someone offers him over 2 million a year with a 4 yr guarantee, he may rethink be the d-cood next yr. If he loves UT so much, go coach Clemson for a couple yrs and come back and take over for Mack once he's ready to step down.

He was pretty close to being the Ark head coach until Petrino swooped in. Personally, I don't think Muschamp wanted any part of the SEC, plus if your going to wait for a job, it doesn't get much better than the one he is waiting for. Texas will always be top dog that state and outside of Oklahoma the other programs in the Big 12 south will always play second fiddle to that program.
Saban is turning out quite a coaching tree for which I'm sure Bama fans will take all the credit - Fisher at Fla St, Muschamp at Texas.

Neither of them has been named a head coach yet. How many of Saban's former coaches are now a head coach. Is the Tech guy a Saban or Miles guy. Pelini is at Neb.

I agree. Texas is a top job in the country. I don't understand why they would extend Muschamp this offer with zero HC experience. Seems they could have pick of the litter of coaches.
As far as Fisher, FSU is a different situation. Bowden made FSU and they would have a hard time finding someone willing to come in after him. Very much a Frank Solich/Smoke Laval situation IMO.

That's what I was wondering. I don't think Brown is close to going anywhere. This is like telling Chuck Amato in 1992 that he would be the heir apparent to Bowden. It just doesn't make a lot of sense and can't make Brown feel real confident at this point.

Did yall see that press conference. Was I the only one who was reminded of Saban when he said: "This is where I'm staying." I dunno just a gut feeling I got.

FWIW - Local channel here in Dallas had his interview and comments in which he stated that his wife and kids love Austin and that if he left they were staying in Austin.

That sounds good and all to reassure fans, but I doubt that would actually happen.
