So when will the new DC be announced?

What the hell is taking so long for at least someone (Miles) to mention some possible candidates in some newspaper interviews or something. What the heck is going on?

He's not hiring a DC. He'll be announcing tomorrow that he'll be running the defense next season.

oh great so can he just plug both ears and not wear the headset any longer. better yet I bet he will get into an argument with himself over calling timeouts

I figured I knew who the starter of this thread would be. Crowton was announced after the bowl last year. I know that one person he's talked to is the interim coach of a bowl team.

My take is that it would be very confusing for the players in preparation having a new guy here as well as Pelini. Bet he has someone in the wings for just after the game.

Patience. Crowton wasn't hired until January. The bowls complicate things, if he is hiring a DC who is already committed to coaching in a bowl, either as a DC or interim HC.

announcing/hiring a DC right now would only mean that Miles would have to let go of a staff member since this new DC would be considered a part of the staff once hired.
then again, I could be wrong, and it wouldn't be the first time...but Arky just had to let a position coach go to Ole Miss with Nutt earlier than expected because of the Petrino announcement.
eta: read the original post again, and didn't realize it meant the 'mention' of possible candidates...my b in that case.

Since when do coaches announce possible candidates for coordinators? The media may do that, coaches don't. I would expect the announcement after the NC game.

who gives a shite that he hasn't pleased some of you retards and announced something concerning the dc for next season yet? i'm sure the next dc will be well qualified to run the defense next season
